Church and politics were always important in their lives. They were members of xxxxxxx Church, xxxxxx Church, xxxxxx and xxxxx Churches. He completed his lay speakers course in 1964, and was very active in each of the church choirs. His political views were simple: Vote Democratic; and he put both his efforts and his funds behind it.
