Does Iran Hold Key To Republicans' Fortunes In Midterm Elections?
If nothing changes, the majorities of both Houses of Congress are going to flip to Democrats, and Bush's final two years will be spent fighting off investigations and subpoenoes.

The October surprise for Republicans is most likely an act of aggression by Iran, likely provoked by the US.

There does not appear to be any other issue on the radar screen that can divert voters' attention other than a new threat and war against the US.

1. It will take an attack on the US or by the US for the Repukes to hold
on to power.

Aren't we all half expecting it?

2. this stuff only boosts up the Presidency

It shouldn't do much, if anything, for/to Congressional and state elections. If the Terra Terra Terra stuff didn't, Iran won't either.

3. I was thinking more in terms of act of aggression by the U.S., unprovoked
by anyone, against Iran since there will be ships there.

4. How difficult would it be to provoke Iran to launch an attack?
Since we have had military forces inside Iran for over 6 mos, how difficult would it be for 'someone' to launch an attack against a US ship or US asset? (IMHO Not very difficult at all).

we have now vote for the Party that started yet another?

I don't understand how that would actually work in the Publican's favor.

However, I can see it being used as an excuse to cover for election fraud, should such a thing occur.
