That drives me crazy.
Why has that been the answer?
What does that mean?

2. OMG. You 'Merka hatas! Your why wer loosing Irak!!!
Lol, sorry, I had to. The reason they use that as an answer is because it's the best they have, it really is. They have dug themselves into a huge ditch, and that it the only thing they can think of which will keep them there and not make the hole bigger.

3. it's a lie, an insult, a statement of patriotism, a strawman, & a putdown
all in one.

it's the perfect disgraced republican substitute for facts and logic.

4. I've never viewed that as an insult
Edited on Sun Oct-15-06 12:37 AM by Downtown Hound
Stupid yes, but I expect as much from freepers. If America truly does stand for fraudulent elections, wars of aggression, unrestrained greed and wanton destruction of the environment, then hell yes, I hate America. I'd like to think that there's more to America than that, and I still believe there is. But as to hating what these right wingers represent and do throughout the world, I have nothing but contempt for them and I don't feel at all ashamed of my hatred, but rather proud.

6. It's much the same when they say, "You just hate Bush", as if
it were just some irrational fixation or strictly a reaction to their own obsession with getting Clinton. It never seems to occur that our Gaius Caligula Shrub has given us plenty of perfectly good, rational grounds for hating his stinking guts.

5. Something to ask them is:Why do you hate AMERICANS?
Their actions indicate a dense streak of hatred for American citizens.
Force them to justify the rough treatment of American citizens by the Republican Party.

8. Another good one:
"If you don't like America, why don't you leave?"

I had people commenting like that on my blog and I saw similar things on other blogs. I mean, I understand the limited logic behind it but still... I'm here because I like it here, and I complain and try to make it better because I believe it can be a better place and because I don't want terrible things to happen in my name. I don't hate America; I hate what they have done to America (and to the US).

9. I think that is old, tired, and worn out...
I may be missing something, but I have not heard that drum-beat in quite a while.

11. And also the concomitant
& inevitable "given" that we also don't "support the troops". Everytime I hear or see that phrase my blood boils. It's like a flashback to the Vietnam era, "America: Love it or leave it!" That made me boil too. All these people with their smug, strictly black & white, one-dimensional version of patriotism have the makings of damn good Nazis.
