do Conservative's "beautiful minds" allow them to live longer ?
i don't know why but it just seems like conservatives live long lives. based on politicians and other well known people whose political leanings you know. this is even if you take away the tragic deaths such as those from plane crashes, assassination, and other things.

does the lack of concern for what is happening and ignoring or not caring about reality make their personal lives more peaceful and as a result increase their life spans ?

1. As the saying goes: "no brain, no pain."
I'm sure there must be something in the philosophy of unthinking ignorance that is good for the individual body. Unfortunately, that same ignorance is bad for the species. So, while a conservative may statistically live longer, they also hasten the death of the planet so, overall, I think it's still better to be a leftie.

2. I would say it is more good food and not getting in to things
that kills one off like the army, and poor places of the world.

3. i totally agree with that

even when i see the ignorance of others and how they live more peaceful because of it, if i had a choice i don't think i would want to be like that.

and on edit, also want to add that there are many instances of people living without worry about anything. only when they are personally hit with something do they come to their senses.

4. They are wealthy
They have the best health care.

Either that, or it's because they are pickled in the first place.

However, I would like to see the actual numbers before I buy into the idea that they actually live longer.

It may be that people like Strom Thurmond have skewed the curve.

5. yeah, he is one of those i thought of plus Barbara Bush's comments
about having a beautiful mind. no actual data though. more on personal perception.

in any case i don't think it's a good way to increase your life span. much better would be to try to do good so everyone can have a better life. and a longer life isn't all that great if it's filled with emptiness and hate and causes harm to others.

6. Right. I would think the hate and the paranoia alone
Could erase any monetary advantage.

Of course, we could wonder whether Babs and Strom are really living that long. It seems, just judging by their comments, that at some point they become THE LIVING DEAD.

I mean, are you really living if you are incapable of human feelings?

9. Well, he's balanced by Robert Byrd....
And look at the hard living my boy Ted Kennedy did in his brazen youth--he's still ticking along. And Helen Thomas is hardly a child, or a rightwinger.

I think it's a combo of genes, how well you look after yourself when you finally grow up and realize you are mortal, and that all-important access to health care.

8. Of course they live longer, they don't fight in American wars!
Yes, it's the lack of conscience. They aren't stressed by sending our men and women to fight and die in conflicts based on lies. Hell, they aren't stressed by their own lies, even when they're found out; they just keep on lying. Or go to rehab.

10. Ding! Ding! Ding! They have other priorities...
Fighting for their Country and Constitution aren't among them.

Recently it occurred to me that most of them were seeking wealth while
other's lives were on hold as they served their Nation.

Pretty selfish.

11. They are stupid, but they breed more
Creating an overpopulated nation of spoiled, earth-abusing idiots. Luckily not ALL of their kids grow up to be like them - some of us are no doubt a testament to that.

12. I was on an anarchist website...
...a while back, listing a "hall of fame" of anarchist leaders over the years, and it jumped out at me how young they died. So many in their thirties, forties, and fifties. But then, when you read the text, you realize how many died by the deprivations and bullets from conservatives. One then understands.

And, as for "plane crashes, assassination" etc. Just counting mainstream politics, the number of left-of-center dead (by unusual circumstances) out numbers the number dead on the right by 2:1.

14. I don't think that being right-wing makes you live longer
I think it's more that both are correlated with class and money. Rich people are (on average, with lots of exceptions) more likely to live longer AND to be right-wing than poorer people.
