Bush family escape plan?
Escape to Paraguay? Rumors of Bush Land Deal

http://www.politicalcortex.com/story/2006/10/14/11926/843

At least two sources, including Upsidedownworld and Prensa Latina, report rumors of a Bush family purchase of land in northern Paraguay.

Upsidedownworld writes, on October 11:

The Governor of Alto Paraguay, Erasmo Rodríguez Acosta has admitted to hearing that George Bush Sr. owns land in the Chaco region of Paraguay, in Paso de Patria. Acosta says that rumor has it that Bush owns near to 70 thousand hectares (173,000 acres) as part of an ecological reserve and/or ranch. However, the governor said he had no documents to prove the rumor.
Prensa Latina, writing on October 13, gives a similar story but names George W. Bush rather than his father:

An Argentine official regarded the intention of the George W. Bush family to settle on the Acuifero Guarani (Paraguay) as surprising, besides being a bad signal for the governments of the region...Luis D Elia, undersecretary for the Social Habitat in the Argentine Federal Planning Ministry, issued a memo partially reproduced by digital INFOBAE.com, in which he spoke of the purchase by Bush of a 98,842-acre farm in northern Paraguay, between Brazil and Bolivia.

25. It's obvious that family expects money and land
to isolate them from a world that quite rightly despises them.

I just hope our friends in South America who are finally able to turn left without US interference (bogged down in that family's wars) will know they have to deal with them or be destroyed.

Personally, I'd love to see that family isolated on a piece of land there, shunned by all. Unfortunately, Paraguay was host to a lot of Nazis at the end of WWII and that family will find quite a few folks in their social circle, able and willing to help them spread their poison throughout the region.

Now we know the other reason Jenna was sent south.

4. The bush family will live out their lives in Maine.
Or on the pig farm, depending on which bushes we are talking baout. They will never do anything useful for any charity , only for fellow political figures. Can you imagine gwb ever doing anything for anyone else? Hell no. But they will be protected from arrest and prosecution because they have too many friends in influential positions, if that is what is suggested mught happen. They will be rich and happy, and a small number of delusional hard-core supporters will still adore them.

Jenna Bush in Paraguay for UNICEF Plan

ASUNCION, Paraguay — President Bush's daughter Jenna came to this poor, landlocked South American country to take part in a UNICEF program for young professionals volunteers, the U.N. children's fund said Monday.

UNICEF released few details about the program involving the 24-year-old, citing security concerns. She is planning to stay in the country for 10 days.

"The visit is strictly private in nature," UNICEF said in a one-page statement released by spokeswoman Natalie Echague. "She will get to know the UNICEF activities in Paraguay and some of the programs it cooperates in."

Local news media reported that Jenna Bush arrived Saturday in the Paraguayan capital of Asuncion on a commercial flight, then dined Sunday evening with Paraguayan President Nicanor Duarte and his family at their official residence. She also met with U.S. Ambassador James Cason. Officials did not confirm those accounts.

Bush Buys Land in Northern Paraguay

Buenos Aires, Oct 13 (Prensa Latina) An Argentine official regarded the intention of the George W. Bush family to settle on the Acuifero Guarani (Paraguay) as surprising, besides being a bad signal for the governments of the region.

Luis D Elia, undersecretary for the Social Habitat in the Argentine Federal Planning Ministry, issued a memo partially reproduced by digital INFOBAE.com, in which he spoke of the purchase by Bush of a 98,842-acre farm in northern Paraguay, between Brazil and Bolivia.

The news circulated Thursday in non-official sources in Asuncion, Paraguay.

27. Jenna Bush ran cover for the land purchase according to this link:

October 15, 2006

Russian Intelligence Analysts are reporting today that the American President’s daughter, Jenna Bush, has secured on behalf of her father, the American President, and the Bush Family, the purchase of nearly 100,000 acres of land in the South American Nation of Paraguay, and which is also confirmed by the Latin American News Service, and as we can read as reported in their article titled "Bush Buys Land in Northern Paraguay", and which says:

snip

The American President’s daughter had used the cover of a United Nations group to ‘cover’ her mission to Paraguay to arrange this massive land purchase, and as we can see confirmed by the Associated Press News Service in their article titled "Jenna Bush joins UNICEF program in Paraguay", and which says:

"Jenna Bush came to this poor, landlocked South American country to take part in a UNICEF program for young professionals who volunteer in its activities here, the U.N. organization announced Monday. UNICEF released few details about the program involving the 24-year-old daughter of U.S. President George W. Bush, citing security concerns."

These reports suggest the these actions being taken by the Bush Family are in response to the expected War Crime Charges being filed by the International Committee for the Red Cross, and which we had reported on in our October 15, 2005 report titled ‘War Crimes’ Portfolio against United States President, Vice President and Defense Secretary Opened By International Committee of the Red Cross Charging ‘Crimes Against Humanity’, and wherein we had stated:

All of this is not the least bit unimaginable.

Oh, and by the way, Reverend Sun Myung Moon lives in Paraguay and has been buying up vast amounts of land over aquifers and along the border with Brazil.

Originally from the Irish Times, 2004

Reverend Sun Myung Moon, spiritual leader of the Unification Church, self-proclaimed Messiah, multimillionaire and a generous contributor to the US Republican Party, has been showing a strong interest over the last five years in little-known Paraguay at the centre of the South American continent.

Since 1999, Rev Moon has built his personal empire which begins on the marshy banks of the River Paraguay and stretches beyond the hazy, level horizon through 600,000 hectares of arid land - equivalent to more than two Luxembourgs - punctuated by solitary clusters of withered trees and sad bushes which struggle desperately for air.
The scorching sun beats relentlessly on one of Latin America's most desolate zones. It is here in the northern province of Chaco, directly above the GuaranI aquifer, the largest resource of fresh drinking water in the world, where Moon's associates claim he wishes to build an ecological paradise.

Nevertheless, national Senator Domingo Laino sees a different pattern in Moon's acquisitions. "There are two principal branches to Moon's interest in Paraguay," he said, "control of the largest fresh drinking water source in the world and control of the narcotics business", which is so prevalent in this area. "President Lula told me that Brazil took serious measures to curb Moon a few years back as it became evident that he was buying up the border between our two countries," said the senator.
Allegations from local law enforcement officials support this claim. The so-called Dr Montiel, Paraguay's drugs tsar from 1976-89, said: "The fact that they came and bought in Chaco and on both sides of the Brazilian border is very telling. It is an enormously strategic point in both the narcotics and arms trades and indeed the available intelligence clearly shows that the Moon sect is involved in both these enterprises."

Paraguay is the major drugs port through which virtually all the cocaine produced by Bolivia and Peru passes. In the world's second most corrupt country, "the ease of buying influence is second to none", said Montiel. "Corruption reaches dangerous levels and he who wants transparency in Paraguay is a dead man. Indeed the famous Iran contra affair was operated from Ciudad del Este" on the south-east Paraguayan border with Argentina and Brazil.

Not content with expanses of potentially invaluable land, Rev Moon has also taken over entire towns, including factories and homes. In Puerto Casado, tensions between Moon disciples and locals led to violent confrontation over the last year following the closure of the only source of work, a lumber factory, and the dismissal of 19 workers who tried to form a union in order to demand an eight-hour day and the national minimum wage of GBP80 sterling per month.
According to Senator Emilio Camacho: "The Moon sect is a mafia. They seek to subvert government control and are effectively building a state within a state. I believe they are hoping the local population will leave so they have unquestioned authority in the zone and are free to do whatever they want."

And one more blast from the past:

Nov 25, 1996 EST

BUENOS AIRES
(Reuters) -

The South Korean evangelist Sun Myung Moon launched a new Spanish-language newspaper for the whole of Latin America this weekend, with the backing of guest George Bush who praised Moon's respect for editorial independence. The former U.S. president, guest speaker at a banquet Saturday to launch Moon's new publication ``Tiempos del Politics Mundo'' (Times of the World), was full of praise for the controversial evangelist's best-known newspaper, the Washington Times, and referred to Moon as ``the man with the vision.'' Bush then travelled with Moon to neighboring Uruguay Sunday to help him inaugurate a seminary in the capital Montevideo to train 4,200 young Japanese women to spread the word of his Church of Unification across Latin America.

Moon already owns a major newspaper, bank and hotel in Uruguay and is buying up land in the Argentine province of Corrientes, where he plans to construct what his followers call ``ideal cities''.

``I want to salute Reverend Moon who is the founder of the Washington Times and of the new paper here,'' said Bush, who was reported by the Washington Post to have been paid $100,000 for his Buenos Aires appearance.

``A lot of my friends in South America don't know about the Washington Times but it is an independent voice,'' said Bush. ''The editors of the Washington Times tell me that never once has the man with the vision interfered with the running of the paper, a paper that in my view brings sanity to Washington DC.''

``I am convinced that Tiempos del Mundo is going to do the same thing,'' said Bush, who managed to avoid being photographed with the 76-year-old South Korean evangelist during his whole stay in Buenos Aires.

Sort of puts GHWB's "the vision thing" into a whole new perspective, doesn't it?

More on the Bush-Moon symbiosis here.

Can't have the multi-millionaire president pay for his own personal trips for himself, his family or his friends. He has his own slush fund, aka "US Treasury".

Charity, ha!! This family has never and will never do anything for charity. It's all about them, what's in it for them? They're only about war, profit, money, death, destruction, misery, greed, etc.

All we can hope is that global warming will affect his paradise in Paraguay, so that when he and his family flee there, it will lie under several feet of water.

when the mata hits the fan and their is no fresh water because the ice caps have melted and the air is so polluted we are chocking on the fumes...those rat bastards will have plenty of air and water.
Very possible that all the paperwork was drawn up in advance and agreed too-they just needed a assignee to sign for the family (forgot the legal term-but it is not uncommon to have a surrogate-here in Texas-you can have a marriage ceremony with a surrogate). Who would ever suspect something like this from Jenna. It's the perfect cover.
Unicef and charity my ass-I doubt there is a charitable bone in Dubya's body-it is just not in his nature. Senior has a modicum of noblesse obliges, as long as it is not inconvenient.
My consolation is that Dubya has fried so many of his brain cells that he truly will be a drooling idiot at the end.

15. US in Paraguay
Seems the US has been pretty busy in Paraguay lately. From the BBC:

"Concern is mounting in South America over a series of 13 joint military exercises involving US special forces in Paraguay.
The exercises began in July and are due to run until December 2006.
The Paraguayan foreign ministry and the US embassy in Asuncion have both released statements denying that the US is planning to establish a permanent military base at Mariscal Estigarribia in the Chaco region, close to the border with Bolivia.
But this has failed to reassure Paraguay's neighbours, who point out the same was said of the Manta Base in Ecuador, shortly before the country signed a 10-year agreement with the US air force in November 1999.
In May, the Paraguayan congress granted approval for the presence of up to 400 US marines in the country for an 18-month period.
In return, Washington agreed a funding package of approximately $45,000 per exercise.
Political analysts fear the mere existence of US facilities in Paraguay will increase the likelihood of terrorist attacks.
And left-wing groups say a base would enable the US military to parachute into South America to intervene in the event of a perceived crisis in the region.
Vice-President Luis Castigliani's meeting with his US counterpart, Dick Cheney, in July, US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's visit to Paraguay in August and plans to open an FBI office in the US embassy in Asuncion next year have all served to heighten speculation about US intervention in the region.

The CIA and military intelligence is also sending missions into Paraguay and Uruguay to combat what it believes are active al-Qaeda cells. Some of these are concentrated, say officials, at the point where Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet near the Foz do Iguaçu waterfall.
http://observer.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,6903,615842,00.html

Of course, perhaps there is another reason Bush might love this region:
Paraguay is a strategic hub for international smuggling, money laundering and other criminal operations. The illicit activities center around Ciudad del Este, a city near the borders of Brazil and Argentina in an area known as the "triple frontier."

One thing was leading to the next
I bit off more than I could chew
I had the power to sign the cheques
It wasn't difficult to do
I couldn't stay and face the music
So many reasons why
I won't be sending postcards
From Paraguay

I robbed a bank full of dinero
A great big mountain of dough
So it was goodbye companero
And cheerio
I couldn't stay and face the music
So many reasons why
I won't be sending postcards
From Paraguay

I never meant to be a cheater
But there was blood on the wall
I had to steal from peter
To pay what I owed to paul
I couldn't stay and face the music
So many reasons why
I won't be sending postcards

32. The Bushes Will Move All The Incriminating Evidence There ....
... knowing that they will never be given up to the US or any other world authority. Plus it gives them a nice spot from which to view the coming military operations in the surrounding countries.

Paraguay is the poorest country, and as a result one with the most corrupt leaders in power.

By the time people pick up on what is happening in Paraguay it likely will be too late to do much about it. The Rev. Moon is heavily invested in Paraguay, and one of the largest landowners. Just one of many Moon-Bush family connections.

36. The US Military Descends on Paraguay
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20060717/dangl

While hitchhiking across Paraguay a few years ago, I met welcoming farmers who let me camp in their backyards. I eventually arrived in Ciudad del Este, known for its black markets and loose borders. Now the city and farmers I met are caught in the crossfire of the US military's "war on terror."

On May 26, 2005, the Paraguayan Senate allowed US troops to train their Paraguayan counterparts until December 2006, when the Paraguayan Senate can vote to extend the troops' stay. The United States had threatened to cut off millions in aid to the country if Paraguay did not grant the troops entry. In July 2005 hundreds of US soldiers arrived with planes, weapons and ammunition. Washington's funding for counterterrorism efforts in Paraguay soon doubled, and protests against the military presence hit the streets.

Some activists, military analysts and politicians in the region believe the operations could be part of a plan to overthrow the left-leaning government of Evo Morales in neighboring Bolivia and take control of the area's vast gas and water reserves. Human rights reports from Paraguay suggest the US military presence is, at the very least, heightening tensions in the country.

Soy and Landless Farmers

Paraguay is the fourth-largest producer of soy in the world. As this industry has expanded, an estimated 90,000 poor families have been forced off their land. Campesinos have organized protests, road blockades and land occupations against displacement and have faced subsequent repression from military and paramilitary forces. According to Grupo de Reflexion Rural (GRR), an Argentina-based organization that documents violence against farmers, on June 24, 2005, in Tekojoja, Paraguay, hired policemen and soy producers kicked 270 people off their land, burned down fifty-four homes, arrested 130 people and killed two.

The most recent case of this violence is the death of Serapio Villasboa Cabrera, a member of the Paraguayan Campesino Movement, whose body was found full of knife wounds May 8. Cabrera was the brother of Petrona Villasboa, who was spearheading an investigation into the death of her son, who died from exposure to toxic chemicals used by transgenic soy producers. According to Servicio, Paz y Justicia (Serpaj), an international human rights group that has a chapter in Paraguay, one method used to force farmers off their land is to spray toxic pesticides around communities until sickness forces residents to leave.

D Elia considered this Bush step counterproductive for the regional power expressed by Presidents Nestor Kirchner, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Evo Morales, Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.

He said that "it is a bad signal that the Bush family is doing business with natural resources linked to the future of MERCOSUR."

The official pointed out that this situation could cause a hypothetical conflict of all the armies in the region, and called attention to the Bush family habit of associating business and politics.

50. What an unfortunate coincidence.
Just last night I was looking at places to escape to myself, and was considering northern Paraguay.

I was looking for a place that will never get cold, has plenty of fresh water, has good solar and hydroelectric power prospects, isn't malarial, won't subside beneath rising oceans, isn't expensive and is sparsely populated.

The Chaco area of Paraguay almost fits the bill, but water is a problem away from the Paraguay River, being swampy at some times of the year and arid at others. Cattle farming is quickly destroying the ecosystem and it will likely be a desert before very long.

I am disconcerted to learn that the Bushes are already there, as it is they whom I am trying to escape in the first place.

65. One question answered
"On May 5, however, the government of Paraguay took the bait. It signed an agreement authorizing an 18-month stay, automatically extended, for US soldiers and civilian employees. The previous limit had been set at six months. On May 26, in a secret session, Paraguay’s Congress passed legislation protecting US soldiers from prosecution for criminal activity, both within Paraguay and by the International Criminal Court.

55. It may be about global warming.
Edited on Mon Oct-16-06 12:10 PM by happydreams
A few weeks ago as I was thinkin about global warming I started wondering if the Bushistas are preparing to live in S. America. What's the connection you may ask?
If there is a rapid global climate shift, as some scientists predict and Gore alludes to in Inconvenient Truth, then the world will suffer a new Ice Age. It will cover the entire Northern Hemisphere turning it into one big glacier. There will be a mass exodus to the South. Do the Bushies plan on setting up a new regime in S. America? :tinfoilhat:

61. Haven't you ever heard the Thousand Years speech by Hitler?
"Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuhrer, ein Volk"

One Hope, One people, One country, One leader.
One Hope, One people, One country, One destiny.

Stand up be brave my people we're here to stay, for a thousand years.
An oath you've spoken, can never be broken, you'll pay, in blood and tears
Never tire, never doubt, never falter, never slacken, Just believe in me.
Stand up, shout loud, stand proud, in what we will we will achieve.

One Hope, One people, One country, One leader will set you free
One Hope, One people, One country, One destiny for a thousand years

Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk,
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk,
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk,
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk.

It's not enough just to say you love your country, its not enough.
It's not enough to get down on your knees and pray, it's just not enough.

The price is high, the price you have to pay is your freedom, surrender yourselves.
Mothers send me your blue-eyed blonde-haired boys and let me see them, blue-eyed blonde-haired boys.

One Hope, One people, One country, One leader will set you free.
One Hope, One people, One country, One destiny for a thousand years.

Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk,
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk,
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk,
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk,
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk,
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk,
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk,
Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Furher, Ein Volk.

One Hope, One people, One country, One leader will set you free
One Hope, One people, One country, One destiny for a thousand years.

56. So this is why Poppy Bush has distanced himself from his war criminal son.
Poppy wants no part in any upcoming war crimes trials.

But he's done the kind fatherly thing, purchasing his son a plot of land in a Nazi war-criminal safe haven.

Makes sense to me.
