I sincerely apologize for my remarks to you personally with all respect. I get fired up at times when I sense people giving up, you a well respected DU'er in my eyes, Walt I think his name is Star? His earlier post something about breaking up the Democratic Party, leaving or something rather? If it was just some follow along come and go everyday DU'er I wouldn't have responded to these posts. But you guys are the ones here whom IMHO .... have been holding up this little part of the Democratic Party on this website. And if you guys want to leave the front trenches for awhile, go for it, life is a gift, enjoy it, take some time off but I just went into damage control here ..... forgive me. The confirmation vote stands at Y=48 and N=22 right now, but most of the Republicans have declared; most of the remaining votes are Dems.

And keep in mind the brave stand the Dems took against the Patriot Act. They could easily have caved...it would have been easier. But they STOOD UP, and protected our rights. Don't give up on them. Keep calling!

Patty Murray of WA state, a formerly undeclared vote, has just announced she is against Alito. There will be more of them.

the announcers have said over and over again that those are the ANTICIPATED votes based on previous (yesterday or earlier today)statements made by the senators in some public form ... it ain't over til the fat lady sings AND the votes are actually cast ... this is STILL debate on the senate floor, and a time for an actual vote has not been announced yet ... probably later this evening ...
