What Democrat scares Republicans the most? |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-15-06 11:55 AM by KingFlorez
Right now, I think it's Nancy Pelosi. The thought that a progressive woman could become Speaker of the House is terrifying to them.

It is nothing personal about Pelosi - just what she represents.

14. You got it. John Kerry; with John Edwards as his side-kick again. |
|
Edited on Sun Oct-15-06 12:40 PM by KCabotDullesMarxIII
They are both on the side of the PEOPLE, of democracy - and their record over the years shows it, without ambiguity.
Kerry also knows his way round the block in terms of the privileged, the rich and powerful, and I think Edwards would be an apt learner, and more than capable when Kerry steps down.
It never ceases to amuse me how the moment Kerry's name is mentioned, certain bright sparks immediately chirp in, "If only I could believe in him again...". Pardon me if I'm sceptical of their credentials.
The visible remnant of the far right could work with Clinton. He's too easy-going and pliable in the direction of right-wing economics for the imperative needs of the country and its people's future.

There has not been a Democrat that can get the message out as effectively as him since FDR. The Repukes have made every effort possible to attack, slander, and discredit the man and he is still probably one of the most popular men in the world. When he speaks the country listens. That is why anytime he says anything the wailing hordes of RW talk radio and Faux news mobilize to scream lies.

9. an elected one. Esp a president, or senate or house leader. |
|
The actual person is irrelevant - it is the position with a (d) that threatens them. And it doesn't nec. have to threaten them - it is just that they have learned to reflexively villify any elected dem. It is what they do.

|
McKinney scared them so bad they managed to get our Dems to throw her under the bus. We need to guard Waxman, Conyers, Kucinich, Louise Slaughter and the rest of the heroes of the Dem House. They will be pushed out by the DLC'ers if we regain the House. They will not be made Chairs of Committees they've served on because they will be deemed too RADICAL.

Pelosi will have the power to steer the agenda of the house, and that includes pushing for subpoenas and investigations. Those two items strike terror into the hearts of all the incumbent Republicans, plus I don't think she can be bought as easy as fat-boy Hastert and co.
