France to withdraw Afghan forces?
FRANCE is to withdraw the 200 members of its special forces deployed in Afghanistan, it was reported overnight.

Both the office of President Jacques Chirac and the French defence ministry declined to confirm or deny the report which said a decision had already been taken by Mr Chirac as commander of French armed forces.

"Nothing has been decided," said a defence ministry spokesman. "We are in a process of re-examining the situation in Afghanistan."

He said the current evaluation process in Paris covered all French contributions to the 37-nation NATO-led security force and the division of labour between securing territory and the training and consolidation of the Afghan army.

2. This is bad news.
This is NATO not coalition of the willing. Although this is only 200 soldiers, I hope the other countries do not start pulling their troops. This is where the war against extreme islam should have been fought. I just hope the NATO countries do not start pulling their troops because we are not pulling our load against UBL. We were attacked. NATO came our defense as they should have. We left NATO with a few of our troops to fight the Taliban and went off to start another war that had nothing to do with 9/11. If I was the head of a NATO country I would pull our troops out of Afghanistan. My feeling would be if the Americans do not want to give 100% when they were attacked, why should I give anything.

3. The war in Afghanastan has been completley mismanaged.....the US
deciding to let the warlords route OBL was the beginning of the end...you are right if I were a Nato country....I would be having second thoughts about sacrificing my troops...

This is bad news for our US troops...
