Keith Olbermann's interview with John Ashcroft was disappointing.

Olbermann raised important issues, like the "Military Commissions Act" Bush is about to sign to let himself declare anyone in the world an "unlawful enemy combatant."

But when Ashcroft said that is no different from soldiers taking prisoners in previous wars, Olbermannn didn't challenge that.

I would have pointed out that previous wars come to an end. The War on Terror will never come to an end.

that Ashcroft was on Capitol Hill during August 2001 trying to get funds shifted from counterterrorism to other projects... also this same source (that I can't remember, sorry) said at some point during spring/summer of 2001 Ashcroft told his briefing staff to stop reminding him daily about terrorist activity.
