Attack ads won't work this time...
For attack ads to have any effect on likely voters the Republics would have to have at least some measure of credibility.

I've been guaging the general tone of the country by visiting large metro TV and radio station websites and going to non-political forums and blogs and the view from my chair doesn't look too good for the pukes no matter how nasty they get. Even places like Beliefnet.com and MySpace are talking shit about the Republics. Animosity seems widespread.

Lacking any credibility with Americans, Republics attack ads won't be enough to save their assess just three weeks from tomorrow.

1. Thanks for the research....
The next three weeks will be the most dangerous for the country because the * cabal will do anything to try and retain power.....except this time it will be so transparent that the majority of Americans will revolt....

3. There have been some here today that have said that the
American public would just go right on about their busines even if * decided to extend his term and suspend the '08 elections. I so hope they are wrong.

If it becomes obvious that the Republics have stolen any midterm seat, I sincerely hope that we the people decide to exercise our Constitutional right to seize control of our Nation.

4. Then Illinois Dems will just have to overwhelm them
at the polls.

I'd say you have your work cut out for you just getting that done. Good luck and I'll be pulling for Tammy!

5. aren't they disgusting? two questions:
one....since when do ads have to have the slightest credibility to be effective?

two....what sort of moran pays ANY attention to those ads? don't they ever use their mute buttons, or PIP, or TIVO?

I NEVER, ever watch commercials.

6. All the ads running here in Tampa/Lakeland area have no political party
affiliation! One mentions the guy being a Jeb Bush conservative. Another says the creep of a candidate likes Ted Kennedy's immagration policy. This could back fire because if people don't follow candidates and want to vote based on issues, they would recognize the name of the person and vote for them.

Seems the Democrats are going to raise taxes on familys and businesses. Somehow I think it more like to raise taxes on the super rich.

7. They're working in Oregon
That's all the Republican for governor has run. Hopefully the people here won't fall for it, we usually don't. But it's close.

8. Heard this on NPR this morning:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6264356

Dick Armey helped the Republicans take over the House in 1994. The former majority leader now says that the GOP risks losing control of that chamber of Congress because it has failed to seize important issues.

"They've turned in a direction that's... very parochial and very political, and I think it reflects a certain amount of insecurity on the part of the Republicans with respect to whether or not they can hold their majority," the Texas Republican tells Steve Inskeep.

"I think they've had an obsessive concern about losing their majority, and in the process, they have compromised their agenda," Armey says.

Armey says the GOP has failed to seize "the big ideas, like Social Security reform. This is the most important public-policy issue of our generation. Our Republican majority with a Republican in the White House should have taken this -- as we say in Texas -- this bull by the horns and fixed this thing."

He says tax reform and out-of-control spending are two other issues the Republicans have failed to address.

He went on to talk about the dismal failure of trying to pass legislature concerning flag burning, gay marriage ban and abortion - all issues that have only the ideal and not the substance of what the republican party was. I truly believe they are going down Nov. 7.
