Now what the RW is saying about Iraq |
|
I am hearing this: "If they just would have let our military go in with full force and not pussyfoot around...blah...blah...blah..."
I have been hearing this. It is the same old and tired story that they use as an excuse for the Vietnam faliure.
These fuckers have no shame and no clue. It is difficult being around them at work.
GRRR....:grr:

...we are fighting for democracy?
I call them functionally insane. They walk among us as dead people. Dead in mind and heart with war as their god.

Everything would have been SO much better if they sent our military in "full force" to wander around with no clearly defined goal!!! Right! :)

6. One thing the cretins don't realize |
|
Is that the military asked for a much larger force to invade Iraq, and Rumsfeld overruled them. Didn't he fire some of them for giving realistic numbers? So the "they" that the rw are whining about are Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush.

7. It's the classic "Stab-in-the-Back" defense |
|
which has been used by every Nation-State which has lost a war as the explanation for the defeat. Bad strategy, poor planning, unreachable goals, illegal wars, or plain determination of the Opponent are never factored in.
The Government of any State is sacrosant and can never be defeated it must be the work of the "nattering nabobs of negativity" or a subversive group inside the Nation (Commies, Liberals, CutnRunners, whomever...)

8. Well it's true, just three years too late |
|
(And I'll preamble this with an emphatic the invasion was wrong in the first place)....
But if enough troops had been sent in to secure the country and the weapons caches, and the promises Bush** made to the Iraqis had been kept (foremost: we aren't going to stay, we aren't going to stay, we aren't going to stay), things might look much different right now.
But BushCo botched securing the country and weapons, they let go the entire Iraqi Army without having enough coalition troops to patrol the streets and then didn't find paying jobs for all these people, they installed a government of US puppets made up largely of criminals and expats who were eventually supported by the militias that took over the streets, they ordered the troops to incarcerate and torture anyone who looked wrong at them, they let corporations come in and focus on building/appropriating things for the US, not the Iraqis...And then they wonder why they've got a growing insurgency and outright anarchy on their hands??
Jesus, this crew could write a handbook on how NOT to successfully occupy a country.
Who couldn't see this three years ago? Only Bush**, his supporters, and the neocons.
