Glenn Beck is scared.
What a twit. He swears up and down we are doomed (mind you he was saying WWIII would be a few months ago. :eyes:) It's so funny seeing CNN hire a hackjob that can't get anything right from day one. We're all doomed...yeah no shit death smiles on us all. Stop living and be scared! :eyes:

What a stupid little man. We're all gonna die...no shit? Tell us something we don't know Glenn! What he knows and doesn't know, nothing! He knows nothing and gets paid by CNN. What stupid irony.

1. he's whipping his mouthbreathing listenership into a frenzy
One got on another board and almost had an anyeurism because we all laughed at his posts.

2. Well, you have to give CNN credit. They had to hire a rightwing nut for
balance, so they hired a really lousy, fetid and astoundingly stupid one. Imagine if they'd spent the money on one that was mean, shitty, and actually a bit CLEVER....

12. They're both GOP...but they want a reputation as being "fair"
and only Faux is good enough for the Republicans. Gotta have a few whackos on the outer branches.

That dreadful hussy Christiane Amanpour is probably the balance for most of their idiots on the right. And perhaps Anderson Cooper. They seem to be among the few willing to get their hands dirty...If Jeff Greenfield is still with them, he's pretty levelheaded and evenhanded, too. He was a speechwriter years ago for NYC Mayor Lindsay, and for Robert Kennedy as well.

7. Yeah same here and that takes a lot since
I can't stand NG. She's a walking, talking harpy. Glenn just seems like he drank so much kool-aid, that the trip became permanent.

19. I have to agree.
Remember the good old days when CNN Headline News was real news, 24/7, and not "entertainment" fluff or right wing a-wipes 24/7? I swear, it is next to impossible to get anything resembling news from CNN nowadays.

6. I have a question....
why do we even publicize a**holes like this on DU? There's a nightly Glenn Beck thread here, which might explain why he's still on the air?

9. I doubt he is on the air because we here at DU loath him and
make fun of his type in threads. I hear he has a huge radio following, far bigger then his TV show. Which is scary.

16. Yeah, seven non-Nielsen viewers probably doubles his numbers
Seriously, DUers would have to turn Mr. Beck's crummy little program in numbers eight or nine times as big as the number of registered users to make any difference to his ratings. The value of keeping an eye on his rantings is far outweighed by any miniscule increase in his viewership numbers by a handful of DUers.

As to Beck himself, it's unsurprising that this scared little man is wetting himself on the air. It's also unsurprising that he'd like a lot of viewers to join him in being scared little people. It's literally all he has left to peddle.

8. I've listened to Beck for a while...
Edited on Mon Oct-16-06 11:32 PM by TwoSparkles
...he used to be more pop-culture-oriented--with some political stuff thrown in. Then, he evolved into the right-wing-hate-radio-monger stereotype.

During the past few months, he's devolved into an alarmist, "we're all gonna die!" terror boy. All he knows how to do is scare his audience. He doesn't just give worst-case scenarios. He dramatically stomps around--insisting that something horrible is going to happen, and he lays out his reasons why---with loads of hysteria and a few facts orbiting around a nucleus of fantasy story-telling.

Several months back, he was convinced that Iran was going to do something really, really, really bad on a certain date. Glenn was just so sure that the president of Iran had something special planned for this date. Turned out, the Iranian President made an announcement regarding their reluctance to give up their question for nuclear power. Glenn backtracked and insisted that he never said something was going to happen. Recently, he's been talking up the "Pilot Jaffar" campfire tale--about a supposed, missing terrorist who is rumored to have sneaked a nuke from Mexico into the US.

I imagine---that CNN saw an uptick in their ratings--when Glenn frightened everyone and started whipping his viewers into a fear froth. So--he just repeats the schtick over and over and over to hook new ears into his "Iceberg right ahead!" freakouts.

He's really become a joke. He's become the chicken little of the airwaves.

10. Did he say what he was scared OF?
Or is he the typical Republican, who's pretty much scared of everything?

Must really suck to let fear rule your life like that.

15. Everything, I bet he sees shadows on the wall
and thinks liberal assassins are out to get him! His segments on what he 'knows', and doesn't 'know' are almost as funny as Colbert's The Word. Beck doesn't know jack!

17. Dirty little secret ...
... I just HAVE to watch a few segments of Beck every week. It's the best comedy on the air - so over-the-top ridiculous, it's like watching an SNL or MAD-TV take-off of every wingnut show that ever existed.

And the fact that there are people out there who take this crapola seriously just adds to the hilarity ...

27. Tell the guy to go read his Bible
Edited on Tue Oct-17-06 05:45 AM by symbolman
Jesus is not some sort of ON/OFF switch :)

According to the Bible EVEN GOD doesn't know when Christ will return, the scripture says, "He'll come as a thief in the Night.." in other words, NO ONE KNOWS, and no one can MAKE JESUS DO STUFF either.. when Pontius Pilot demanded Christ perform Miracles, Christ told him he wasn't a fucking Magician, and didn't do 'requests'... :)

Tell yer pal to read the bible, he's been missing some parts, pretty important ones too.

Everyone should read the bible, it don't hurt and when some FREAK starts some shit, you can shut them RIGHT DOWN, the perfect vehicle for a GOOD argument, and even if you don't win, you've still humilated them, and spread a seed of doubt.

Of course everyone should read the Koran, the Book of the Dead, and all that as well. Don't cheat yourself before you die, get hooked into the Big Power Outlet :) (However, I can boil all those religions down into two simple words. "Be Kind." There, now you can go to heaven or just die happy without all that kicking and screaming :) )

CNN really hired a LOOSER. Just try to remember to put these assclowns into perspective. If you realise just how many people actually SEE cable, or these shows you'd shit at the numbers. For one, there are MORE people watching SpongeBob SquarePants than O'Reilly.. chew on that Glen Beck.

Technically speaking there are probably MORE people who have just showered after a hard day's work and are Clipping their Toenails, than ARE watching Glen Beck.

Not to worry, let HIM worry, ALL of their ratings are in the tank. The MINUTE they start IMPEACHMENT proceedings they won't BELIEVE the ratings they'll get, and I've been telling them that for Years - maybe they're gonna wake up, after all they DO MANUFACTURE OUR "REALITY".. scary, but true.
