The Washington Post Puts Out A Hit Piece Against Lamont
Giant-Killer Lamont Stumbles

Democratic Senate nominee Ned Lamont and Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (D-Conn.) met here Monday for their first general election debate, and the insurgent candidate did not get one direct question about the issue that dominated the August primary, the war in Iraq.

It was symptomatic of the predicament Lamont has found himself in since his stunning victory two months ago.

Then, he was hailed on the left as a political giant-killer who had demonstrated the power of national dissatisfaction with President Bush and the war. Today, his campaign is emblematic of the pitfalls of trying to marry a political insurgency with the party establishment. Tugged and pulled in different directions by old and new advisers, the wealthy businessman has been struggling to refocus his candidacy.

2. The neocons are pulling out all the stops for Joe, eh?

What makes Joe so important to these treasonous, rat bastards?

Why doesn't Joe think that he has to play by the rules? First, he bullies on...after LOSING the primary. He keeps talking when time has been called during the debates. Darth Dickhead STUMPS for him. Wow. One wonders exactly what the GOP stands to lose...

There followed a series of missteps. Lamont, who had run a skillful, grass-roots primary campaign, left for vacation and his campaign immediately began to flounder.

NEWSFLASH!!! Hey assholes...when you WIN the primary, you WIN the primary. He has ALREADY beat Judas Joe once. The one who is floundering is Joe...he can't get out of his own way. The voters in Connecticut are too smart for this.

5. He's important because they need at least one pet Democrat...
...to create the illusion that their schemes are bipartisan.

Without Joe, who's gonna go on the Sunday talk shows and
catapault their propaganda from our side of the aisle?

And bear in mind that Joe has been in bed with them for
quite awhile, and BLACKMAIL can work in both directions.
Joe probably has just as much dirt on them as they have
on him. And if he loses the race, he loses most of the
reasons to NOT reveal it.

3. Well, if "Dan Balz" (heh heh) has composed a hit piece, it at
least taught me something I didn't know: that Lieberman had promised to serve no more than three terms, and has of course broken that promise.

Seems odd that a "hit piece" would help disseminate such an obviously golden bit of anti-Lieberman ammunition.
