who lives in a city or the country so long as they are decent people.

who is older/younger/in between so long as they use that oxymoron "common sense" AND are decent people.

who lives where except for the fact that variations affect attitudes and actions so long as whomever also understands this.

what color someone is because we are all all colors in variations so long as they are decent people.

That flying f*? I DO care about anyone who imposes on others, who attempts to control others EXCEPT as is absolutely necessary, who is bigotted or prejudges people on 1 or 2 factors rather than taking the whole person into consideration, who is narrowminded in thinking not only is their way right but the ONLY way for Everyone.

I am on vacation and checking into DU to see what news is and find some topics on things that run contrary to my lists above, so feel compelled to write this to express feelingskeep up the good work, focus on what is really important, thank you DU and DUers for being here. Onward!

I'm visiting family in France, hanging out, eating good food, listening to aging parent talk, seeing interesting places. I get to check into DU occasionally to see the news and had to post this. Interesting thing struck me yesterday, there are so many variations on the basics of eating, drinking, sleeping, clothing ones self, working, etc and none of them are the absolute Right Way to Do Things. Combine that with being out of the USA for a bit, away from consume consume consume and yes, thank you, I am having a fun time.

6. Hi Tom. I wish I knew how to vacation also.

Had to make a decision recently. Miss weeks at work that I can't afford to miss (have low income/low outgo with very little ability to spend more) and take a trip with aging parent paid for by the same, or not travel with aging parent/ continue on at work/ be able to pay bills. Time to spend time with aging parent since parent is definitely aging and this will be my last chance to do so most likely. Family won of course. Someday I'd like to take a vacation on my own, go where I want, see what I want, etc etc etc. Until then, life is an adventure. peace to you.
