1. I'm very worried about her
A couple of DUers said they'd been in touch with Feminist Press and were told that it wasn't unusual for River to go offline for a month or two, but I dunno, this silence concerns me. I sent an email to Raed asking after her but got no reply.

2. I miss River bend. I hope she is OK.
I gave up looking every day for her. One would think she is depressed. The whole country must be. Think of how well Germany was doing this many years after the war was over. Even in the Airlift they were better off. I would say that was about '49. These poor people can not even go to a store to buy bread. I may cost you your life. Bush and his keystone cops have sure made a mess of every thing they have got into.

3. I wrote to her after her next-to-last post.
This was after her close friend was found dead. I told Riverbend in no uncertain terms to get out NOW. There was nothing left worth staying there for; the Iraq she knew was dead and gone, and nothing was going to bring it back. After that post of hers, I would gather many around the world shared my sentiments and e-mailed her to get out, too.

I'm not sure she received the message, what with electric power being so unreliable in Baghdad. And even if she did, Riverbend is such an Internet star that she gets hundreds or thousands of e-mails after she posts a journal entry. Nonetheless, I have never so wanted someone out of danger in my whole life -- and I don't even know her!

I hope she and her family are safe, preferably in Jordan.

4. many iraqi bloggers are missing
many on my list of iraqi bloggers have not posted in months while others still post every week. it depends on where they live in iraq and if they can find internet connection. a few use the university to connent to the outside as well as sat connections. several bloggers have moved to the states or other countries in the middle east because of safety concerns..

if you are interested try these two bloggers and there links
