It looks like the OUTING announcement is one of the Idaho Repukes
Or at least that is what I'm gathering from this U.S. Newswire release:

Mike Rogers, the nation's top gay activist blogger, will make a major announcement today about a key figure in Idaho's political establishment.

Rogers, the president of Proud of Who We Are, will make the announcement Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 3:30 p.m. Mountain time (2:30 p.m. Pacific / 5:30 p.m. Eastern) on the nationally syndicated Ed Schultz Show. On the show, Rogers will reveal his reporting on the hypocrisy of this prominent politician and call on him to tell the truth to Idaho citizens.

The Ed Schultz Show is broadcast on stations across the country, including 1280 AM in Spokane, Washington. The show can also be heard live in streaming audio at http://www.bigeddieradio.com.

Well now...which one is it?

12. I agree, but it is certainly helping the media. The
hypocrisy of it all is overwhelming.

10. Now THAT is a great name!
Especially given that, in my experience, even the butchest otter happily goes legs-in-the-air when you rub his tummy.

18. I think that refers to which Senate election schedule they're on
I noticed on the Senate's page listing all the Senators' websites that each one is designated class 1, 2, or 3. I didn't check any further to validate my guess.

I don't understand. If these people are "in the closet"
how does Mike Rogers know they are gay?

13. Even closet cases socialize
They have lovers (and ex lovers), they visit gay bars, etc. Often times, closet cases are out to friends, and even good friends gossip. Really, "outing" a politician isn't so much about revealing secrets as it is about enlarging the number of people who already know.

20. Please. Everybody in Chicago knew our dear Mayor Harold Washington
as well as our asshole Governor "Big Jim" Thompsen were both gayer than a treeful of parrots.

Hang out in gay bars enough and word gets out.

11. Except to point out the hypocrisy of the GOP is this anyones business
Who are we to care who is or is not gay? It is not our place to judge others. The only reason this matters is because the Republican Party and their Religious RIGHT fundamentalist have been anti-homosexual for so long, this just makes for good pie in the face exposure for the frauds they really are. And this is just the tip of the ice berg for the fraud portrayed by the GOP.
May they hang by their own ropes.

character as dishonest, I would totally agree with you. The only thing that is our business here is the dishonesty.

17. How?
Because we're being "mean" to anti-gay homosexuals? It is time the religious right realized that they are being used as pawns. And since the GOP wants to demonize "the Gay" to drum up turnout every election, it's only appropriate that we let them stew in the pot they're calling black...

Also, perhaps people will realize that "the Gay" are people everywhere. People you work with, people in your family, people you trust, people you like and don't like, people with twisted political ideaologies, people that sell out their own for career advancement. The closet is evil, and gives rise to duplicity, deception and denial. We should be moving toward a society in which the kind of shame that drives people into the closet isn't there.

*THAT* is what will finally make the difference!
When no one can naively believe that "no one they
know is gay!", there will be no choice but to realize
that gay people are just as human as they are, and
just as entitled to certain basic dignity.
