As I Watched First 5 Minutes Of Olbermann Last Night...
And I listened to him say how the WH was naive, and acting surprisingly upbeat and unconcerned about the upcoming elections. How KKKarl was predicting the repubs would not lose more than 10 House seats and 2-3 Senate seats, not enough to swing power from the repubs.

As I was listening to this, my first reaction was, "THE FIX IS IN!!" They KNOW they're going to come out of this in OK shape. They might be damaged slightly, but they WILL still be in power come next month, and will once again be able to spout that their agenda is the one chosen by the Amerikan public.

I guess we'll see, but don't be surprised if it's exactly like KKKarl is predicting. The Dems make ground, but come up short in both houses, and the repubs still maintain control.

No investigations, no committees, no Democratic subpoena power, 2 more years of Monopoly Of Power by the repubs. What's exactly going to stop them? I don't think the MORONS in this country have the stamina to fight for something as insignificant as who controls this country and it's future. They'll be too busy planning for Christmas.

1. Or watching "Access Hollywood" or other celebrity "news". Foolball and
"reality shows" about dating and style will keep the rest occupied.

2. it's just happy-face time
if the polls were reversed and dems were behind - would you expect one of the DEM leaders to come out all doom & gloom or would they come out with some sort of pep talk?

another way to look at it is - bush's "upbeat" attitude could be attributed to his bubble where no bad news can penetrate, his denial of bad news, and his refusal to talk to anyone that may tell him bad news. besides bush doesn't look at polls - so he absolutely no freaking idea of how bad it is..

3. KO also suggested that GW & Karl have to stay upbeat,
to keep the minions working. I think KO is correct on this one, the two leaders of their party have to stay upbeat just to give the die hards some hope.

We have these yahoo's on the ropes, so between now and Nov 7th we need to work our butts off so we can deliver the knock out punch.

4. Since when have they not had smiley faces
They have had smiley faces on Iraq for years; it did not change the reality of what is going
on, look at DeWine losing ground, the Republicans would not be withdrawing money from his
race to shore up other areas if they were not in trouble. Follow the money, they spent
millions on Ohio because it was one of their 3 key races.

5. The fix is in, but it's damage control time, not time to win it all
What we know from past elections is that about 4% of the vote gets flipped. That means they're concentrating on throwing as much shit as they can at Dem candidates, trying to suppress the Dem vote and keep the elections close enough. Also expect "glitches" galore as polling places in Dem districts suddenly find themselves short of machines and/or ballots and other Dems find themselves mysteriously absent from voting lists.

What we need to hope is that people are angry enough that this one won't be close enough to steal. We know people are angry. We just don't know if it's enough.

7. Georgie the talking chimp in his rose garden performance...
last week referred to Nancy Pelosi as the House Leader.

This is very telling imo, for it seems probable that he picked that little tidbit up somewhere along the line, probably in a briefing by his monkey trainer Karl Rove, inserted it into his addled brain, and accidentally farted it out in public.

They know, and despite what public face they're putting one, they're preparing for the worst. I'm sure the White House shredding machines are working 24/7.

If it turns out to be the debacle that it's looking like for the pukies, it is going to get VERY ugly. The Rove slime machine will be working in overdrive.
