Universities in UK urged to spy on `Asian-looking` students
Tuesday October 17, 2006 (0102 PST)
LONDON: In a measure likely to infuriate the minorities, British government has drawn up a plan to ask lecturers and university staff across the country to spy on "Aian-looking" and Muslim students they suspect of involvement in Islamic extremism and supporting terrorist violence.
According to ’The Guardian’, the plan has been drawn up by the Department of Education and it will be sent to universities and other centres of higher education before the end of the year.

-snip-

"It claims that Islamic societies at universities have become increasingly political in recent years and discusses monitoring their leaflets and speakers. The document warns of talent-spotting by terrorists on campuses and of students being "groomed" for extremism.

3. I wonder if they have any Halliburton built retention facilities
or any old horse race tracks they can convert in a hurry.

:eyes:

This is about as stupid as it gets. Society has learned nothing from the mistakes of its past. Hitler would be proud.

5. Also- people would be willing to have microchip ids implanted into them.
This was on CNN earlier today.

They were listing all of the crazy things that "Merkins would be willing to put up with. Apparently, most of them would be willing to do almost anything if they think it would make them safe.

This totally scares me MUCH more than supposed terrorists striking this country.

The terrorists have truly won.....

6. "groomed" is an exceedingly nasty expression
usually reserved for paedophiles. I'm horrified it should be used in this context.

Doubtless anyone reporting a student for looking Asian will then say "does he - I hadn't really noticed".

7. If they were being prepared for violence
then an exceedingly nasty expression would be appropriate.
