Those "boom box" cars are actually serving a useful purpose - you can hear 'em coming from a sufficient distance to allow you to hurry on across the street!
Also, they're really really good at waking up my barking dogs at 3:00 AM and making sure I don't oversleep!
Oh -- they don't fart, either.

2. I don't believe that one minute. |
|
All dogs fart! Our Lassie used to rip one off and then look around with a grin to see if anyone sould do any better.

3. No, I meant the boom box cars |
|
Of course my dogs fart! They fart and then look around as if they're surprised! "Who did that!"

Aside from mosquitoes and humidity it's the thing I hate most about summer in this town. Every time one of these ass-clowns stops at a red light outside my apartment building I have to pause the movie I'm watching until they move on. What I really don't understand is how they enjoy it at that volume. Does it sound better when you are actually sitting IN the car? Because from outside it just sounds shitty and distorted.

4. Our neighbors across the street dispensed with the car |
|
and just turned their entire garage into a big boom box.
At 11:30 PM.
On Sunday night.

5. Now, see if this was a smoking thread, we'd be arguing about |
|
whether the loud noise across the street can cause hearing damage or tension or whether lack iof sleep caused fatal accidents, etc. I presume you just called the cops to enforce a local noise ordinance.

6. A few other suggestions... |
|
Nobody likes those annoying billboards... they distract and cause accidents and should be banned.
Public parks are dangerous, kids hurting themselves all the time, stepping on sharp sticks, slipping on wet grass, and definitely should be banned.
Someone could be distracted while talking on their cellphone, walk into traffic and cause an accident, so talking on a cellphone in public should be banned.
Claustrophobic people may suffer anxiety attacks in elevators so maybe elevators should be banned.
Those places that overlook scenic areas from high above may be nice to look at but what about people who are just walking by, they could fall over the railing and all... so maybe we should ban all scenery.
There are also scenarios when thinking could be harmful to others guess so that should be banned as well.
Finally, Ban all sharp objects!

requiring that all citizens cover themselves with bubble wrap or protective clothing, wear face masks, and make it illegal for anyone to ever say anything mean or hurt anybody's feelings. the government is clearly not doing enough to protect us all from ourselves.

I love to listen to music in my car loud (when I'm alone) but I don't want everyone else to hear. It's ridiculous how these young guys have that blaring crap from their cars. They just want everyone to look at them.

10. Oddly enough, we notice it more in winter than summer. |
|
The summer noises tend to wash out the sound. In the winter, we can hear the bass when the cars are about a mile away.
