Have you heard of the 72 hr. program? Do we have anything like it? |
|
For those of you who haven't, the 72 HR program is a Pub get out the vote national boots on the ground program whereby they have Capttains in every precinct who get volunteers to go door to door (each for 2 hours a day) to urge and remind people to vote PUB!
Now the GOP is saying they aren't really worried about the Nov election, because their 72 hour program works so well, they'll retain power!
I know Dean has been working hard on the 50 State plan, and is doing very well, butdo we have anything even close to this program to motivate Dems to GET OUT THE DAMN DOOR on Nov. 7th?

2. I don't know about that. Thom Hartman was talking about it |
|
with Laura Flanders today. They said this program has beenbeing perfected for the last 20 years! Ican't say they're always right, butThom usually does his homework before making statements like that.

3. They've been working on it and improving it for years. |

It's pretty well known in political circles. Democrats didn't pay any attention to it for a long time.
I don't know if there's anything at a national level like this for the Democrats. Or even at the state level. I just know that our county doesn't follow any particular game plan, we just do what we feel like doing. Sometimes we're sort of effective, sometimes not.
Never do we retain information from one election to another and build on it. I, however, have been doing that as best I can. Someday we'll get enough people to realize the value of it but "we don't do it that way" still seems to hold sway here. Of course we have almost no elected Democrats at the county, state, or federal level so I guess that's working just fine!
