Ed Schultz should change his radio voice. |
|
He sounds too much like oxycotin Rush.

2. He isn't Rush??????? Damn, he sure fooled me. |

I thought it was the biggest media joke going.
Well, I still think Ed is the biggest joke going. He's about as progressive as Lou Dobbs.

IF ONLY we could get Republicans to listen to Ed Schultz and think that they are listening to Rush.
(They might be surprised at hearing the truth.)

I guess he's not lefty enough for some of you, but he mostly call things like he sees them, and I like that!

10. Everyday it's something |
|
Let's find something to rip Ed Schultz about. Well, I'm here to tell you that Ed Schultz is one of the best friends the progressive movement has right now. He happens to like fishing, football, Country music, and sticks up for the average working stiff. Hmmm...sounds like thousands of people across the USA doesn't it? He also lets callers talk, unlike some other hosts, who feel a need to scream over them. Schultz even lets righties talk before he rips them apart. If people out there don't like him, then why in the hell are they listening? I'm just getting tired of the "let's find something to tear apart Schultz" threads in here.

18. Ok my beef isn't with you so much |
|
But Ed Schultz has been raked over the coals here in DU because there are, quite frankly, a lot of ultra-Liberals here who do not have a real good grip on reality and what it's like to be adult and to struggle with everyday things. I'm not singling you out at all. And I admit, he does sound a bit like limbaugh, but maybe that makes dittoheads heads explode when they think they are tuning in limbaugh and get Schultz instead.

19. I rip him because he's just not progressive. He lies. |
|
And his little promo song thing goes: "Ed Shultz. Liberals Hate Him." now. If he's so progressive, WTF does that mean???? I'm a liberal, and I think progressive, and maybe even a left wing wacko. But I'm a democrat, so he just doesn't understand what progressive really means. Aren't you a liberal if you're a progressive. I would hope so.
Once I heard him say as he was proclaiming just who listens to his show, that it was just "ordinary folks" like him, NOT LEFT WING WACKOS. Huh?????
I am really not sure just what he stands for. Something is just not right. Or Left in this case.

I caught him accidentally on my local AAR affiliate. Disquieting really, especially when going after Harry Reid.

14. Ed didn't say anything we weren't all thinking already about Reid! |
|
I said it when I read the report! WHY Harry? It doesn't SOUND GOOD. You need to explain exactly what happened! If it's BS, say so! If you made a mistake, say that too! We don't need a Dem leader getting caught up in this nasty corruption mess right now!
That's basically what Ed said, and I believe most DUers feel the same!

12. I think the "fat angry white guy" sound is an important part of his shtick |
|
actually.
If he didn't sound like that already I have little doubt that he would have cultivated that sound.
The whole point of the Ed show as far as I can see is to appeal to white males who are drawn to Rush Limbaugh/Hannity/Beck/Gallagher type of radio.

21. Ed takes his calls cold |
|
Though a producer gets a name or location.
Now this approach takes serious balls. Very few hosts do this. Rush certainly doesn't (he'll be the first to admit he only takes calls that make him look good). And Insannity doesn't either (notice how flustered they get when someone gets through and punks them?). I suspect Lionel takes calls cold as well, but I'm not sure.
I like Ed. I don't agree with him all the time, but he knows how to do an entertaining radio show. One problem with most AAR hosts is that they can at times sound downright depressing. Randi will sometimes go on a three-hour rant about Iraq. Who wants to hear that? Ed knows how to mix it up. Changes subjects often, switches to talk about non-political stuff (football, fishing, travel, BBQ, etc.), throws in some humor, and handles callers well. For that, I'll give him props.

In order to reach out to others, especially in the midwest and south, he should sound exactly like Randi Rhodes. You bet. :eyes:
Seriously, he "sounds like Rush" so he must be no good. Every time I think liberals can't be close-minded, I'm proved wrong.
