My Nightmare is almost over......

I just received the monthly newsletter from my Son's National Guard Company, and it looks like he will be home for Thanksgiving.

I can't begin to tell you how hard it has been for me this past year... I always tried to stay positive and focus my anger on this war and seeing to it's end. This is something I would never wish on anyone.




PS... I hope now my hair will grow back.... I lost bunches of it worrying....

Our semi-adopted son (in the Army at Ft. Lewis) will be heading over after the first of the year. He was supposed to complete his hitch in March 2007, but the rat bastards extended him to March 2008. I guess the only saving grace is that he'll be in a tank, except if he gets his brains rattled in there. My wife and I, my oldest son (his best friend) and my daughter are all very worried.

I tried my best to talk him out of enlisting in the Army back in late 2002, but he said he had to prove to himself that he could complete something and that he wanted to build up college funds. At the time we hadn't invaded Iraq yet and we tried to convince him otherwise, but his mind was made up. I hope and pray he gets the opportunity to use those college funds.
