McGavick had an ad on television running where he actually proposes that welfare mothers get mandatory drug testing, I am not making this up. As an activist for low income people, I can tell you from experience, welfare moms are not drug addicts ~ there are more rich people on drugs than the poor ever thought could happen! He also supports the "death tax" for the less than 1% of the population, this is why I wrote the letter. No mention of the war, the terrible need for healthcare, or the outsourcing of jobs that once gave this state so much prosperity
Thank YEW Boeing. Three days after 9/11 and 6 months after moving to Chicago after 100 years of tax breaks (and swearing this would not affect the factory workers), they announced that they would have to lay off 35,000 workers, many who were imported from other parts of the country ~ as if 9/11 forced them to do this, when in reality it was planned all along. In actuality, they laid off more than 80,000 workers and left them high and dry after their Unemployment ran out and there were no jobs because, at the same time the Dot.com industry also went belly up, leaving a depressed economy with the expectations that the tax payers would have to supply the safety net for laid-off workers. THEN Boeing whined about their high Unemplyment Insurance fees and tried to get WA voters to support their not having to pay them! McGavick is a Safeco exec. His company also got lots of compensation ~ for an insurance company and as we know insurance companies want to make it law that you pay them and they do everything they can *not* to insure you.

Republican leadership's goal is to please the corporations only. The focus on fattening the corporate bigwigs' pockets is now on hiring temporary work forces to avoid paying benefits.

9. Good going, Cat!! Thank you for being sand in the cog of the RW machine. |
|
Someday (let's hope soon) if we all follow your lead and get the message out wherever it's needed, that sand will strip that cog, the cog will fail, and the right-wing machine will break.
Only good efforts will make this com true -- and thank you for yours! :toast:
