4 dems and 21 repervs? Even assuming that the dems belong there, which I doubt.

3. Murtha's always been a big porkboy...he's got a brother snuggled up to

the defense industry, too--his brother is a lobbyist, in fact, and he's "helped" him. There are a LOAD of them sprinkled throughout Congress, Kit Murtha is just one of a bunch: http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2006/01/28/family_ties_spark_concern_in_lobby_debate/

But brother John ain't stupid--he keeps at barely arm's length, just enough to avoid being smeared completely.

Look, you can be right about the conduct of the war, and still have your finger in the pie. They aren't mutually exclusive conditions.

4. Murtha, Waters, and Mollohan are mentioned

because of suspicions that they used influence to benefit family members. If you go to CREW's website, you can read the details that put each of these people on the list. The suspected problems with the Dems are peanuts compared to more than half of the Repubs on the list. Anyone who thinks the Murtha situation puts him anywhere near Delay, Burns, Frist, etc., hasn't read through CREW's info on each Congress critter.

cites CREW as a liberal organization, which it is not. They're squarely nonpartisan in their investigations -- it just so happens that there's enough corruption on the right side of the aisle to make anyone's evaluation look partisan. Those in power are the ones most likely to abuse it.
