Conyers says filibuster

Scalito Nears Confirmation -- Prepare for the Worst
Susan Estrich Throws in the Towel

There is no doubt in my mind that there should be filibuster on the Senate floor to prevent, or at least delay, Alito's final approval. He would be a decisive vote to cut back precious liberties and the rights of all Americans. His vote would dangerously tilt the law against innocent Americans exercising their First Amendment rights. Unfortunately, the country will pay the price for Judge Alito for a long time to come.

I also bring to you attention an excellent summary by News Hounds of my good friend Bobby Scott's appearance on Hannity and Colmes last night. Susan Estrich was subbing as the supposedly "liberal" co-host, and her performance was really pathetic. The full post is worth a read, but it is clear her job was to ingratiate herself to Fox, not offer a useful debate.

3. If I was a betting man I would bet that Mr Conyer's is a regular
ole boy in the mold of Bill Clinton. Something tells me he still has his feet on the ground, nothing like people such as bush*, chenney*, hastard, delay, frist, etc. I could go on and on.

6. Carve that guy's face on Mt. Rushmore NOW!

John Conyers is the kind of leader we need now. It's notable to me that the two most courageous people in congress, Conyers and Cynthia McKinney, are black. I think there may be a certain advantage to being black in times like this, in that they were never really fooled in the first place. They've always known what it's like to go against the grain, fight the tide and be in the embattled minority. And they've always known what evil lurks in the hearts of privileged men with shiny surfaces.

7. Susan Estrich- what's she EVER done?
Edited on Wed Jan-25-06 10:34 PM by depakid
The quintessential coward who helped give us Bush 1- and threw away a commanding lead in 1988.

If anyone listens to her- they're major league suckers.
