What % of people vote in early voting?
Just curious because here in New Mexico Madrid was up by 8% in the polls during the early voting. Even if it tightens up to a dead heat in three weeks, the early voting came right at the peak of the Foley scandal fall out.

1. Early Voting is a relatively new thing

but I encourage everyone to go to Early Voting rather then using an absentee ballot. At least with EV, you know right away if there is a problem with your registration and you still have time to do something about. Plus it is a lot hard for someone to steal your vote when you have to vote in person. Absentee ballots are fraught with all kinds of problems.

BTW: I do know that in the 2004 election in FL, Kerry won the Early Vote, while Bush won the Absentee Vote.

2. I thought I heard around 50% voted early.
If so that is wonderful news for Dems.

4. Often more than that here. Some precincts here it's as high as 78%.
Of course, that's primarily retired people in that precinct who can go during the day for early voting (8 AM - 4 PM) during the week. Or 8 AM - Noon on Saturday. They will be open 8 AM - 8 PM the last two days of Early Voting, Nov. 1-2.

We're voting for both the Governor's seat and the Senate next month. I'll need to be in line early. We're in a pretty hotly contested Governor's race this year (Michigan).

Ann Arbor

On edit:

I think I misunderstood the term "Early Voting". I'm assuming this is different from Absentee?
