"The Congress just gave the President despotic powers."
Jonathan Turley on Countdown tonight. "And you could hear the yawn across the country, as people turned to 'Dancing With The Stars.'"

We now have a kind of "uber-president," he said.
"People clearly don't realize what happened today."

Turley's comments bear repeating.

1. Can Krystallnacht Be Far Off?
What happens if the Dem's win a majority in Congress at the polls? We have that hiatus between the certified results and swearing-in, on January 3.

Time enough to declare a National Emergency and make a lot of people into "desaparecidos."

The jackboots on the front porch at 3:00 a.m. have not been closer since the Battle of Yorktown.

2. Seventy percent of the population doesn't know what despotic means.
Or "uber-president."

When we spread the message we have to be better communicators. If we mean "dictator" we should say "dictator."

4. How About "King"?
Let's just call it what it is -- this b*st*ard has revived Hanoverian monarchy. He can sign death warrants, general warrants and arrest warrants without probable cause.

How is this any different from George III? Oops! I forgot! He IS George the Third.

5. The problem with that is some people LIKE the idea of a king.
There's this idea of a benevolent, fatherly King. That's what Bush does aspire to be, I believe, in his twisted little brain.
