Where Have all the Flowers Gone........?
http://www.arlo.net/lyrics/flowers-gone.shtml

WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE
words and music by Pete Seeger
performed by Pete Seeger and Tao Rodriguez-Seeger

Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the flowers gone?
Girls have picked them every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young girls gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young girls gone?
Taken husbands every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the young men gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young men gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young men gone?
Gone for soldiers every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the graveyards gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Covered with flowers every one
When will we ever learn?
When will we ever learn?

2. From some of the posts I've read here today
They've gone to Canada, New Zealand, or the Green Party. I supposed though, thinking about it, that flowers would fit in well with the Green Party.

5. Anybody here remember Marlene Dietrich singing that song
back in the 60s? I think she even sang it in German on one of her visits there. Shows you how old I am.

Sag mir, wo die Blumen sind... Maedchen pfluckten sie verschwind... Brings a tear to my eye just thinking of it.

9. Remember when Pete was with The Weavers?
They split up but had a reunion concert at Carnegie Hall in the early 60s. The recording of that concert is considered one of the finest ever put on tape. I remember walking into a Hi-Fi shop back in the 70s, and Pete was singing "Rambling Boy" from that concert. They are still putting out expensive audiophile versions of that on CD and LP in 2006.
