Santorum: Iraq = Lord of the Ring
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2006/10/18/quote_of_the_day.html

Quote of the Day
"As the hobbits are going up Mount Doom, the Eye of Mordor is being drawn somewhere else. It's being drawn to Iraq and it's not being drawn to the U.S."

-- Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA), quoted by Salon, likening the Iraq War to Lord of the Rings.

4. Santorum- Living on Mt. Doom 11/8
Someone should tell Rick the Prick Santorum that the eye of Mordor is being drawn to Irag and it's not being drawn to Afghanistan and North Korea where it belongs.

I would think "Lord of the Rings" is one of those evil satanic books like Harry Potter that Religious fanatics line Rick S. want banned.

I live in Pennsylvania. I can't wait until we get rid of Rick the Prick.

5. But the analogy has a fault:---looky here:

http://www.suite101.com/lesson.cfm/19532/3098/5
The Eye of Mordor was Sauron’s way of seeing events as far as hundreds of miles away. It had limitations though, which was how Frodo and Sam were able to creep into Mordor under its gaze.

11. Actually, this plays the US as Sauron
While the the US is watching Iraq, the terrorists are plotting elsewhere (Afghanistan).

What a mo-tard.

14. I told Sam Seder
on the air just now, that Man-On-Dog Santorum doesn't know his Tolkien. The invasion of Iraq does sort of fit the mold of the Armies of the West attacking the Black Gate, as a hopeless sacrifice to try to look arrogant and foolish enough to hold the attention of the Enemy.

But that doomed military adventure was intended to keep the Eye from looking into Mordor and seeing the hobbits on their secret mission. And Santorum doesn't want "the Eye to come back here to the U.S." So what does that mean? Is Santorum saying that the U.S. is Mordor? And who are our hobbits?

:wtf:
