Gas in KC jumped Overnite - from 1.93 to 2.09 |
|
And one station I drove by was up to 2.15. North Korea, I guess.
Funny how everyone here thinks that prices were down because of the election. I hear that everyday.
So how high are we going to go this time?

1. They go down every Tues & back up every Weds' here in Indy ... |
|
... $2.05 on my way in to work this morning, guessing by lunch they'll be $2.20.
Funny how the world market can so suddenly affect demand on my little street corner? :sarcasm:

2. Oil companies now assume pubs are gonna lose |
|
so what's the point of keeping the gas prices down anymore. May as well raise 'em now and start making more money sooner.

6. I don't think Talent is doing very well. |
|
And he shouldn't be.
And Phil Kline isn't doing very well over in Kansas - and he should be run out of town on a rail.

7. Actually here's the deal on why gas went down |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-18-06 10:21 AM by Rosemary2205
Slate has the article I saw.
Back in August, a huge commodities fund changed the importance of refined gas in thier fund value so pretty much everyone hoarding refined gas flooded the market with it forcing the price down. As soon as the flood of extra gas is used up (which should be any day now) then gas will go back up to 3 bucks.
Edit - hears?? Where'd that come from? LOL :)

9. Puhlease do not interject information about commodities markets |
|
and world markets into this discussion. You should know that Bush/GOP/Big Oil are in charge of every fluctuation in the price of gas and it is all tied into this year's election. :sarcasm:
If the price of gas does go up after the election, I can assure you that the reasons cited here will have nothing to do with commodities markets, world supply and demand, hurricanes, threats of war, etc. It will be B/G/BO picking a rather large price number from a bowl and deciding the price of oil and gas that way.
If the price of gas does not go up after the election, it will be interesting to see the alternative conspiracy theories that crop up; or perhaps there will be conspiracy silence.
OPEC is meeting this week to discuss cutting back on production. This might have something to do with an increase in prices.
