Air strikes kill 22 Afghan civilians: reports

The provincial government in Kandahar province is confirming that nine civilians were killed and 11 others wounded in NATO air strikes Wednesday.

NATO said the operation was believed to have caused "several" injuries. snip

Earlier Wednesday, there were reports that as many as 13 civilians were killed in a separate attack when a rocket struck a house in an Afghan village during a clash between insurgents and NATO troops. snip

Numerous Afghan civilians have been killed in air strikes and other military action by international forces since late 2001.
