I heard a caller on c-span say ...
that he won't vote for the democratic party because blacks and other races are in the party. This is why I believe that a lot of people vote for the republicons. Do these people live in the same country as us all. This person and others like him would rather see this country destroy because he hates other races. From what I could tell in his voice I assume that he was a white male. When I hear people like this I often wonder do they really believe that this country is all white or is suppose to be. If he does I wonder where he thinks that the Native people of this country belong. These are the people that Bush is counting on for votes ... What do you think?

will not vote for their party, Because their hate is stronger than their logic. For the reasons I stated above. Thou, I do believe that a lot more have begun using logic, lately.

37. Understood. However, being one who is deluged with the RW freaks
all about me (save for my immediate family and a close friend in my Neighborhood), I can attest to the fact that they are really cry baby quitters.

All these scandals equate to the school yard bully being punched in the nose by the new kid. As the blood gushes out of his nose, he goes crying into the woodwork and withdraws.

Remember, many of these old coots who rule this government are hold overs from "The Nixon" Administration. I remember Jimmy Carter winning the Presidency by these sniveling cowards staying home in 1976. I could not vote but it was a beautiful sight.

The Republicans are all "fired up" when in power, however, when their boy's girl's are even thought to be losing, they run for the hills.

In essence, Republicans remind me of fair weather fans. When I attended the University of Nebraska, each season I'd faithfully sit in the stands even though I KNEW the damn Oklahoma Sooners were going to hand our team (Cornhuskers) their asses in the last five minutes of the game. The temp would also be down in the low forties since it was always close to Thanksgiving.

Yeah, not to get too symbolic on you, but Democrats are like "A TRANE" system, in that, we don't give up the fight when we are behind.

We're in this for the long haul. :P :toast:

the switches to the Dem Party in the elections, their reply was "Women shouldn't be allowed to vote."

As an aside, bec I do lurk on freeperville (I know, I know)....most of the members are men, very few women.

4. They are powered by ignorance and pride
republicans need those foot soldiers because the millionaires don't provide enough votes. So the gop plays to the racism of their poor base. Fear blacks, fear iraqis, fear terrorists, fear Nancy Pelosi. Cheer on war and don't look at the failures we have created that would damage your pride.

However, I am in a similar boat I guess. I won't vote for the republican party because their are republicans in that party.

23. I spent the morning with people just like the one the OP was
talking about. I had to go to a business here in town that I am in quite a bit. During the course of conducting my business I heard one lady make such racist remarks that one of the owners (her sister) told her to quieten down - not tell her to shut the hell up, but just be quiet about it, heard another lady rail on and on about how her daughters "learned about oral sex from Bill Clinton," I overheard two other women talking about early voting by absentee ballot because they wanted to make sure their vote counted for the repugs. They are just sure that the Democrats are going to try and steal the election so they have to vote absentee.

Another lady went on and on about the deal with Harry Reid. I finally told her that it was just a matter of degrees. She asked me what I meant and I told her that on one hand you have Harry Reid that did nothing illegal but filled out the forms wrong on a land deal and then you have the other side covering up and protecting pedophiles, taking the Constitution protections away, got us into an illegal war, busted the treasury so bad that her grandkids would be paying their entire lives, made sure millions and millions of people aren't getting healthcare coverage, killing the middle class, forcing an extreme form of religion on all people and just flat out lying about everything. Told her, "But if all you got your panties in a wad over is a land deal paperwork then I think you are missing the real issues."

Left soon after. Trying to figure out a way I can vote 8-9 extra times to cancel out the "morans" I talked to this morning.

24. Her daughter learned about oral sex from her boyfriend and they both
enjoyed it. Why aren't these motherfuckers who support the party of responsibility ever responsible for anything?

BTW, my girlfriend and I invented oral sex in the summer of 1971 long before I heard of Bill Clinton. I hate it that he always gets the credit.

25. This woman is so stupid she has to say under her breath, right
foot, left foot, breath if she wants to get from one place to another.

She honestly believes that her daughter learned about oral sex from the Big Dog. I know the likelihood of that is just silly, her daughter was a freshman in college at the time! (I fought the urge to tell her that if her daughter did learn about oral sex from Clinton than at least she learned from the master but thought it was best not to set her off into another rant.) You can't discuss anything rational with people like this. They pride themselves on having a closed, uninformed mind - don't bother them with facts, data or logic and they are as happy as clams.

I was reading John Dean's Conservatives Without Conscience while I was there this morning and you would have thought I had pissed in the floor or something. Everyone should read that book, I have already learned so much and so far I'm just through the preface and Chapter 1. Explains so much about today's rethuglican party.

I used to walk my sons to school in the morning and there were numerous times that I saw pornography on the sidewalk and in this park that we used to walk through. Not to mention if they get on a website and some pops up. They are trying to think up anything to make excuses for their party.

6. I honestly cannot fathom where racists come from. They must be
taught this type of hate and there are only about three places where this could happen: 1) home - passed down generation to generation, sons of the confederacy? 2)schools - while there was some subtle discrimination in the public schools I attended, I cannot believe this is the source and 3)churches - what do they actually teach? Most are pretty segregated and some RW types do preach hate of 'gays' and others.

When you ask for directions to his place, its like this:

"Go past two trees, then a big gray rock on the right, a dirt road on the left, turn right at the black mail, go up and over the hill, past the real big tree and the 2 medium trees and turn at the third medium tree, your almost there about now..."

I wouldn't pay too much attention to those callers I believe their numbers are in severe decline these days.

10. Actually here in michigan the race card is being played big time.
First there is an admendment to the states bill of rights that will stop the affirmative action rights. Then I'm hearing the good old people are lazy and want to live high off the hog on welfare stuff, stories abound about welfare people driving BMW's, Caddies and lincolns while buying steak and lobster with food stamps. Then in the same breath They go on and on about gangs, drive by's,and crack dealers or addicts who are the main recievers of welfare. A vote for the republicans they say will stop all of this abuse of the system.

11. Yep....the GOP is the racist party.
Why do you think George Allen isn't 25% down in the polls? The man had a noose and Confederate flag hanging in his office, he called a man Macaca and put a horse's head in a black family's mail box. The repukes in Virginia LOVE that stuff. They're a bunch of racists.

Remember the anti-lynching resolution? How many DEMOCRATS refused to sign that? ONE...Kent Conrad from ND. (shame, shame, shame on him!). How many repukes refused to sign it? 19!

HERE THEY ARE...Remember them.

Lamar Alexander (R-TN)

Christopher Bond (R-MO)
Jim Bunning (R-KY)
Conrad Burns (R-MT)
Saxby Chambliss (R-GA)
Thad Cochran (R-MS)
Kent Conrad (D-ND)
John Cornyn (R-TX)
Michael Crapo (R-ID)
Michael Enzi (R-WY)
Chuck Grassley (R-IA)

Orrin Hatch (R-UT)
Trent Lott (R-MS)
Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)
Richard Shelby (R-AL)
John Sununu (R-NH)
Craig Thomas (R-WY)
George Voinovich (R-OH)

19 Republicans and 1 Democrat, a real wall of shame.

You never have to be responsible. You can believe that, were it not for the liberals and the minorities they pander to, you would be much better off. You didn't miss that promotion because you suck, you missed it because they wanted to give it to a black guy. That sort of thing.

I've got a couple of racists in my extended family, and they're the biggest losers of the lot.

There are Republicans who are black too. Not to mention Asian, Hispanic, Pacific Islander, Native American and all the rest of the "races" (hey C-Span caller, get a clue - there is only one race - the human race). The Republican candidate for Senate from my home state, Maryland, is black. So does that mean this caller won't vote Republican either? What a moran.

29. A caller last week added women to the mix
He was a white male who damned the Democratic party for advancing the cause of minorities, gays, and women.
And the hate-talkers feed right into this white male anger. They are sophisticated enough not to be blatantly racist or sexist. But they are duplicitous enough to use code words. Which their audience understands. "Urban" for black. Hillary types for any woman running against a Republican. (Hillary is always good for a scare to white males. Why? Her success and competency). Anti-Americans as a catchall for anyone who opposes the latest Bushian lunacy.
It's just all macho blather to coverup the white male inadequacy.
These are people who haven't succeeded. And it's not their fault. Their marriage ended. Big surprise. Their children are estranged. Big surprise. Their boss holds them in low esteem.
But it's not their fault.
It's the women. The gays. And the minorities.
And, of course, the immigrants.

Intolerance and hate is the new "paradigm" Bush, Cheney, their minions in Congress and the media demonstrate to us daily that we should not feel ashamed if we despise another because of race, creed, color, sexual preference, gender, etc. It's O.K. now to be intolerant of someone for what they are, not for who they are.
