Please Support Sgt. Clousing! |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-18-06 01:46 PM by pecwae
I tried this earlier and didn't get much in the way of replies. I feel it's so important to let Sgt Clousing know he has public support. Let's try again:
"On Thursday, Sgt. Ricky Clousing plead guilty to absent without leave and will serve three months in confinement. At his sentencing hearing, Sgt. Clousing continued to raise his concerns about the abuses of power that go without accountability and the everyday devastation of the occupation of Iraq. For the time being, Ricky is being held at Camp LeJuene in North Carolina. It's critical over the coming week that Ricky receive letters, postcards, and other words of encouragement from friends, family and other supporters. This will both keep his spirits up, and put the brig staff on notice that Ricky is not alone.
Support Sgt. Clousing in the brig! Write a letter today and tell him he's not alone! Please send only letters or postcards. If you do want to send Ricky reading material, it must come from a bookstore or publisher preferably new and shrink-wrapped. Food and other personal items won't make it to Ricky. Also, assume that all letters to Ricky will be screened so please use the appropriate discretion."
If anyone wants to send SGT Clousing mail please PM me and I will supply his mailing address. Freepers could possibly figure the address out, but I don't want to post it here and make it easy for them to harrass or stalk him.
Thank you, DU, for your support:thumbsup:
PS: I forgot to add the part about his legal fees. If anyone has any spare change:
Make A Contribution to Pay Legal Costs All contributions are tax-deductible Contributions go directly to Sgt. Clousing’s defense fund and legal fees

Did he grow up in a cave raised by jackels, joining the Marine Corps on a whim? A LCPL or PFC is not an intrigal part of National Defense, the Marines will move on, just chewing up people that decide to forget thier committment and oath before thier time is up.
Only 3 months, nothing too it. Can't do the time, don't do the crime.

3. The man's committment and Oath is to |

the US Constitution, not to any ruling Regime or Party.
And before their time is up? Please. A contract is only viable when both parties are true to it. IRR recalls, extended deployments (172 Stryker Bde) National Guard usage? Have these been fair?

Where was your concern when I was floating aroung on a gator freighter for 9 months, (6 month det), or how about the time that I spent an extra 6 months in the Desert. Oh, and this was befor Bush. A military obligation is 8 years. Read the fine print. And since when does fair enter the equation in the Military?
He was on Active Duty, took off. AWOL. Now, it seems to me that there was a little brew ha ha about Bush being AWOL. Is it a bad thing or not? I am going to be consistant and say bad thing. He got off easy. 3 months Brig time. Shorter than many of my cruises where I was stacked 4 high in racks way below the water line.
