The merchants in the marketplace of ideas are yelling at their customers.
And I don't think many people can be blamed for not wanting to shop there anymore. Would you buy something from a merchant who lies, manipulates, and hates you? I know I wouldn't.

We blame the majority of America for not standing up to the Bush administration the past few years, but with the way all politicians have been acting I can't blame them for shying away from the affairs of our nation.

People don't like to be hated or yelled at, that is simple, it is common sense. They may eventually choose not to follow your ideas, but I can guarantee they won't even listen to your sales pitch if you yell at them and call them names.

That doesn't mean you water down what your selling, unless what your selling is solely made of hate. But if there is a real kernel of goodness inside beneath the hatred, the sale might just occur. You don't have to give up what you believe in to act in a civilized manner; to treat others with inalienable human respect.

I am just another merchant, but I hope I haven't been angry, I love y'all too much to be mad, but I hope you get the message.

We have to stop being full of hatred, I don't know with certainty how you feel, but I do know how I feel. I know I almost hate or do hate them. They have done so many horrible things the past few years. But that hatred isn't going to stop those horrible things from happening. If anything it makes it only more likely, because they aren't going to listen to our opinions about the various issue that divide us. Just like someone wouldn't buy something from a merchant yelling at them.

I don't have all the answers, but I'm trying to get a discussion going to see what other people think about this. I don't think I am alone in this, but who knows maybe I am. What do you all think?

1. hate
Is a useless and stressful exercise in futility. To dislike or to oppose someone is OK. Hate on the other hand hurts the person feeling that emotion most of all. IMHO
