Brazil says no to rainforest privatization plan, asks Gore for helpI hope Mr. Gore comes to Brazil's aid regarding this attempt to privatize the Amazon. Our natural resources should not be for sale as a commodity. Already, the Amazon rainforest is experiencing excessive deforestation caused by cattle ranching, and drought brought about by the climate change exacerbated through this deforestation.
The people of Brazil deserve the chance to work to reforest the Amazon with the world's aid, and in fact
are doing so, and I believe their current plan has merit as it also not only seeks sustainability for the world, but seeks self sufficiency on the part of developing countries.
The fact that Brazil would even ask for Mr. Gore's aid regarding this shows in how high esteem he is placed regarding this issue. This is the work a
Global Environmental Ambassador does, and it seems to be falling into place. Mr. Gore is finally finding his true niche in the world, and it is as a global environmental advocate who will do great things to work for the continued sustainability of our planet.

Picture of Al Gore signing the Portuguese version of An Inconvenient Truth in Sao Paulo, plus other entries regarding other locations he is spreading this truth can be read about here:
Progressives for Gore An Inconvenient Truth In Portuguese... beautiful. I wonder if the movie will be translated in foreign countries as well? Anyone who then can't see the impact he is having on our world now just isn't looking. It is obvious that the world is. It would seem however, that this message is having a greater effect in Europe and other parts of the world than it is having in America. His grassroots climate project is never even discussed, and that truly is sad. How will our government ever take this seriously if WE don't first?
Btw, his slideshow training sessions are also going to go international, with one being planned for Australia. His book, Earth In The Balance is also being reissued this October 31, by Rodale Publishers.
