"Dem" House Member supports Internet activity spying.
Might be time to clean our own house of anti-privacy / pro-fascism dumbasses:

Data retention bill expected next week

Proposal expected to require Internet providers to keep customer information for a year for police convenience.
By Anne Broache and Declan McCullagh
Staff Writer, CNET News.com

WASHINGTON--A Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives said Thursday that she plans to introduce legislation next week that would force Internet providers to record customer information for one year.

Rep. Diana DeGette of Colorado said that she is working with Republicans Reps. Ed Whitfield, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce oversight and investigations subcommittee, and Joe Barton, chairman of the full committee, to finalize language mandating a controversial practice known as data retention.

Does anyone know if DeGette is up for re-election this Nov.?

10. According to Wikipedia, she won her last election with 76% of the vote.
Denver is so heavily Democratic, that it would be pointless to run a Repug, as is Boulder, where I'm registered to vote.

Actually, checking my absentee ballot, I can see that a number of local seats have only a Democrat, or a Dem and Libertarian running for them.

She's done alot of good things. Here's the Wikipedia entry on her. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diana_DeGette

5. If and when we win control
we will have won one battle in a long war. Both parties are corrupt and clueless and both parties pander to fear and idiocy. The republics are worse than the Democratic Party, but not by a whole lot. The bi-partisan coalition of idiots will continue to push one odious idiotic law after another and fight like hell to prevent any meaningful change. The war has just begun.

7. Is she a DINO?
What has her past voting record been like? Maybe she's Joe "The Great Pretender" Lieberman's female counterpart. Or would that honor go to California's very own DINO Feinstein?

Here's the Wikipedia entry on her. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diana_DeGette

She probably needs to get an earful though about this current business.
