Question re: Du PanicRoom group

Why do I always get messages I post and that others post with a delay of about 3-4 days? It doesn't do me any good to ask if others are having problems there because the message doesn't show up until long after the situation has corrected itself. I just got a message that someone posted last Friday.

Is there a setting I'm missing?

1. digest mode

Im guessing you are subscribed in digest mode, see about changing your subscription type to be individual messages.

3. is this the yahoo group?

if it is..., it might be that all posts are moderated to prevent spam or other obnoxious posts. that means that all posts have to be approved by the moderator before they can be posted for all members to see and respond to. the delay could be with yahoo or with the moderator.

4. Wish that they would implement some sort of system

where you only are on moderation until they establish that you are a responsible and bona-fide poster. Lots of sites have some sort of probation system in place. It would certainly make things for functional over there.

(I get frustrated when I can't get onto DU, and then I can't get a post at the Panic Room to show up.)

5. The Yahoo 'panic room' has been around for a while but it's worthless

mostly...there's a catch-22, it needs to be moderated so Freepers don't infest it but that causes big delays in posts being made public. I don't know how to 'fix' it, though.
