I nominate Tom Kovach in Tennessee, and Vernon Robinson in North Carolina. Loony, loony, loony.

Even loonier than those two, but all three lost their Repug primaries, were James L. Hart in Tennessee, Merrill Cook in Utah, and Joseph Sweeney in Arizona. Hart and Sweeney *were* their party's nominees in 2004, and perennial candidate Cook actually got into congress for 2 terms by some freak accident.

Loony, loony, loony.
