Don't Ask Don't Tell
I don't "understand" this policy. If you are brave, disciplined, and in reasonably good shape what does your sexual orientaion have to do with serving in the armed forces.

The part I don't understand is the policy is designed to allow gays to serve as long as they don't disclose they are gay. It seems inherently contradictory.

John McCain said he would change the policy when militray leaders ask him to which means never.

1. You got to remember the Military is full of rednecks
I served with a brother who was gay. If the rednecks ever found out its call a blanket party and its no party. Its better if you are gay to not let anyone know. Sorry that just facts not the way I feel. That Brother I told you about saved my life and his name is on the wall

3. If there is one thing that Foley scandal showed
is that most Americans see homosexuality as proof of being out of control sexually. And the military tends to lag behind the rest of the society in thse sorts of issues.

4. That's Sad....

Why do innocent people have to pay for Foley's transgressions. Sex between adults and minors is always wrong regardless of the orientation of the people engaging in it. And the lion's share of pedophiles are straight.

People will look for any reason to justify their bigotry. Why can't they just leave people the fuck alone.
