Remember, "We make our own reality. Others just respond to it?"
It's time for the Dems to bring this statement off the shelf as an example of how this administration not only uses and dupes the evangelicals but how it tries to do the same thing to the rest of us. It's their mindset and people need to be reminded of this. It explains why this administration finds it so easy to lie, cheat, steal, and smear. Everyone else just responds. I think the Dems running for office should have a standard ad on this mindset of the administration. There are hundred ways this quote can be used in ads to really appeal to voters it can go from the simplest message to a very sophisticated message depending on the target audience. And I would "swiftboat" every Republican running with the statement to demonstrate the Republican mindset that lied us into invading Iraq, lies about the economy really being good for working men and women, and continues to tell us that the Iraq war is going well.

Here's one: "We make our own reality" You respond.

1. This one?
"The aide said that guys like me were 'in what we call the reality-based community,' which he defined as people who 'believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.' I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. 'That's not the way the world really works anymore,' he continued. 'We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.'"

2. Was it ever revealed specifically who said that?
This NYT article by Ron Suskind I believe was where it first appeared:

4. I think it was Mark McKinnon.
At this point, though, I can't remember if that's what Suskind said or if there's some other reason for me to think that it was McKinnon.

5. Reality is like a slow version of gravity.
Gravity may work faster but reality can cause us to fall on our butts just as hard, whether we believe in it or not.
