Dear Keith,

You're an ace sportscaster, a learned baseball historian, and an
exceptional news broadcaster but you must please update your resume. It
should now include: impassioned, principled patriot. Budding historians
such as myself will remember tonight and your words.

I'm a first year graduate student in US History at The University of
North Carolina at Greensboro. You should know that years from now, when
I'm teaching a freshman US History Survey at some po-dunk, diddly
college--when we get to the chapter on post 9/11 hysteria in America, I
will show tonight's commentary. In the future when my college freshmen
ask me why no one was awake at the switch when George W. Bush destroyed
our Constitution, I will show my class your work on Countdown. I'll
point to the video screen and I'll say, "Olbermann wasn't asleep. He did
