Bush Guts Posse Comitatus, Grabs National Guard!
HUGE! Bush Guts Posse Comitatus, Grabs National Guard!
by Major Danby
Wed Oct 18, 2006

...................

If I told you that Congress was considering passing a law that gives the President -- this President -- the power, in the event of any "disaster, accident, or catastrophe" that he deems to require it, to:

- involuntarily take National Guard troops from State A and
- require them to work in State B for up to a year,
- in law enforcement rather than just traditional areas like disaster relief,
- over the objection of both state's governors

would you believe it? Probably not. And you'd be right. Congress is not considering such a bill.

IT ALREADY PASSED SUCH A BILL THREE WEEKS AGO!

What we're watching is our country being blackmailed by a radical minority operating within our own military. That group has the power to unleash nukes on major US cities and they've already proven that they will kill US citizens.

And Bush accuses the arab states of fascism. Fascism is a
radical political ideology that combines elements of
corporatism, authoritarianism, nationalism, militarism,
anti-anarchism, anti-communism and anti-liberalism.

Edited on Wed Oct-18-06 10:11 PM by Marr
People who respect the law don't steal elections. And really, if you can just repeal habeas corpus, posse comitatus is nothing. Law has no meaning at all when the president can come on television and say essentially, 'yeah, I'm breaking the law with my domestic wiretaps- what ya gonna do about it?'.

This shit is only going to get worse- and fast.

I always wondered if the Halliburton Happy Camps were being built to stymie the inevitable uprising when they steal the vote again. This time it will be way to obvious to hide.

Should we finally have the masses in the streets (like we should have done long ago) to demand clean elections and a new Congress, we're Enemy Combatants in the Chimperor's eyes and off we go without a trial to the happy camps.

Bastards. Don't put it past them.

I've had the feeling of being watched since I was volunteer webmaster for an anti-Bush site near the beginning of this regime. After awhile you get used to it and get into "Bring it on" mode. Seriously, I've thought as far ahead as to decide I'm not leaving and they'll never take me alive - and I decided that long before all this crap came about.

Damn Nazi's.

Edited to add: Don't let them put the fear of BushCo in you. That's just what they want.

26. Bush also added a signing statement to that bill.
Edited on Thu Oct-19-06 12:24 AM by Marie26
Because the bill, as written, apparantly just didn't give him enough power. I'm feeling a little sick. He signed the Defense Authorization bill this Tuesday, Oct. 16, and added a complex, detailed signing statement. I think someone should compare how the signing statment affects the sections that the OP is referring to - it may well give Bush even more control & power than we know. Briefly scanning it, the statement refers to the beloved "unitary executive" numerous times, and flat-out refuses to furnish information to Congress. This is getting scary.

with no court of higher resort. It's never been more important to get majorities in both houses of Congress.

Other next big Bushie step - steal the 2006 elections to assure that they can get that next SCOTUS judge and pass more fascist legislation.

Has anyone ever heard of Milton William Cooper. He wrote a little book awhile back called Behold a Pale Horse. A lot of it is fantastical conspiracy theories, but he did talk about something eerily similar to this, but it deals with FEMA.
Freakish.
I'm getting more paranoid as the days go by.

Edit for more info: the book was published in 1991 and the section I'm talking about deals with H.R.4079

.........What can you do?

You can make noise.

No - you can make a LOT OF NOISE.

Write letters to the editor. Call your representatives in Congress and make them pledge to rescind these changes. Call the offices of Senator Harry Reid's and Rep. Nancy Pelosi.

This is an issue on which the most rock-ribbed conservatives, the most ardent populists, the staunchest libertarians, and the most committed liberals ought to be able to agree. Even non-Democrats are looking for any excuse now to reject Bush and his fawning supporters. This is as big and fat an excuse as one could want. Bush and his flying monkeys are politically weakened now. We can beat them.

We can't give this measure of power to the President. Power corrupts..........
