Bust below 60% in all the states that support him
http://surveyusa.com/50State2006/50StateBushApproval061017Net.htm

He is down to 9 EVs. . .and he's about to lose Wyoming. The Blivet is losing Texas, Florida and. . .ALASKA????

When is the last time Alaska voted in a Democrat?

In fact, the Blivet owns 9 EV (UT, ID, WY), with 6 up for grabs (MT, ND).

That makes the score now. . .520 - 9 - 6. Good job with that "political capital" there, slappy. You did a wonderful deficit spending your "political capital."

3. Poll: Clinton's approval rating up to 73% in wake of impeachment - 12/20/98
http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1998/12/20/impeachment.poll/

December 20, 1998

Web posted at: 10:48 p.m. EST (0348 GMT)

(AllPolitics, December 20) -- In the wake of the House of Representatives' approval of two articles of impeachment, Bill Clinton's approval rating has jumped 10 points to 73 percent, the latest CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll shows.

That's not only an all-time high for Clinton, it also beats the highest approval rating President Ronald Reagan ever had.

At the same time, the number of Americans with an unfavorable view of the Republican Party has jumped 10 points; less than a third of the country now has a favorable view of the GOP.

Despite concerns that public calls for Clinton's resignation would rise after his impeachment, the number of Americans who want Clinton to resign has remained statistically unchanged. Only 30 percent want Clinton to resign; only 29 percent want the Senate to convict Clinton and remove him from office.

6. Thanks for posting this....it's a keeper.
Kind of makes you wonder how the 2000 election was close enough to steal.

"less than a third of the country now has a favorable view of the GOP." I suspect we've been conned for a long time on how popular Republicans actually were.

7. I think if Gore had gotten off his high horse and accepted...
...Clintons help on the campaign trail it would not have been close enough to steal. Gore should have grabbed a hold of Clinton and never let go. Even with his shit for brains vice presidential choice and the Nader factor Gore still would have won by plenty.

Thats just my humble opinion.

5. Let's make a conservative assumption
Let's assume Bush had to run again against John Kerry. Let's further assume that Kerry ran the same milquetoast campaign that he ran the last time, and that a sliver of those people who disapprove of Bush either would never accept a Democrat as an alternative, or some of those people would not be persuaded by Kerry. So figure Bush still wins in states where he has a 45% or above approval rating. That still only gives him 9 states for 67 electoral votes. Point is, if he had to stand for re-election again, if a boob like Kerry could win easily.

9. I don't believe a true Dem would down other dems ever
in such terms. I was first for Dean, then Kerry. I would never call another dem a boob.

Maybe I misunderstood your post.

Alaska may actually elect a Democrat to Congress this year, kicking out that old bum Don Young. We have a great candidate, with some serious momentum behind her. Almost every day there's a letter to the editor in the Anchorage paper supporting her while Mr. Young hasn't had ONE. I think people are pretty sick of Republicans, even here. Incidentally, our Republican governor, Murkowski, finally attained the position of least popular governor in the entire USA, at last beating out the guy from Ohio in the race to the bottom.
