Beazley lashes PM over Iraq war (attempt to censure PM)
KIM Beazley has launched a vigorous assault on John Howard's war in Iraq with a series of provocative questions in parliament and an attempt to censure the Prime Minister.

In the final question time in a week dominated by debate on Iraq, Mr Beazley accused Mr Howard of signalling a possible withdrawl simply because the US President George Bush had told him.

He also accused Mr Howard of risking the lives of Iraqis and US soldiers for his own political ends - an allegation firmly rejected by the Prime Minister.

Mr Beazley said every serious analyst, and senior British general, believed the continuing coalition troop presence in Iraq was exacerbating the terrorist problem.
