What ships?
"My point is that I want the leader to understand — the leader of North Korea to understand that he'll be held to account," Bush said. "Just like he's being held to account now for having run a test."

Bush also suggested that China may be more committed to the recent round of U.N. sanctions than it has let on in public statements.

"I'm getting a little different picture from Condi ," he said. "They don't particularly want to board ships. But, on the other hand, if there's good intelligence, they'll work with us on that intelligence. They're inspecting cargoes coming across their border."

1. It seems odd that * would
refer to Condi by her first name in this situation. It is also funny that he goes around bullying when his toy box is empty, unless he is planning to nuke NK for trying to get their own nukes. Likens to spanking a kid for hitting his sister. Peace, Kim

3. I'd wager a significant amount of trade between North Korea
and China is carried on by sea. I mean look at that map - shorter voyage by Sea unless you are directly north of North Korea.

6. I know I know
but the funny thing is that this morning I saw the local NBC station talking about how China is inspecting the trucks going into NK ....and last night ABC reported that the Chinese aren't inspecting anything (with footage of long lines of trucks rolling across the same bridge as I saw on NBC this morning).

7. I would think they'd be more concerned with what's coming out
than with what's going in. In theory, the big threat is that Kim will sell his bombs to terrorists. I suspect that in fact, he has no interest in selling nuclear material since he's using it to protect himself from being deposed the way Saddam was. Our ally Pakistan, on the other hand......
