"We're Headed Into Potential Constitutional Crisis If Dems Win Congress"
It looks like we’re about to enter into an interesting period following this election.

We’re headed into a potential constitutional crisis if the Democrats get one or both houses of Congress. They will certainly have subpoena power and I think the Bush administration is likely to resist the production of documents.

The idea in my book is that Bush has created a radical presidency that is unaccountable. And if a check-and-balance is introduced for the first time to Bush, instead of one-party rule, we’re going to have another crisis. The conflict will increase, not diminish. As Bette Davis said, “Fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a bumpy ride.”

2. It will be funny to see Repukes trying to paint the Dems as doing
nothing ... since the 2006 Republicans had the least number of days in session in recent history (since the 1900?) ...

5. We've been in a Constitutional crisis since 12-12-00, IMHO.
The chimp punk thinks he and his 'adminishtrashun' is accountable to no one. The Dems need to hold their feet to the fire.

6. If Bush's Iraq War continues, the military will decide the issue

I can see the uniformed services in mutiny within a year, if the White House tries to stonewall a new Congress.

Don't forget the Fifth Branch of American Government: the U.S. Army.

8. That's uncomfortable terminology
"This guy is dying of a terrible disease, and the only way to cure him is to inject him with this - but it will make him even sicker for a while"

"So your going to poison him?"

It's not a constitutional crises per se - we are already in a constitutional crisis (as several have pointed out). Congress providing oversight over the White House is the cure, not the disease. It may well make things bumpier for a while, but it is the only way to fix the problem.
