4. hear this, about the Strickland hires pedophile story?
I heard a caller smugly bringing it up a few minutes ago

this is as vile as it gets, and typifies the pug mindset

http://www.ohio.com/mld/beaconjournal/15777857.htm

It was the first gubernatorial debate in Ohio history, possibly the United States, in which one candidate accused the other of being applauded by the North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA).

J. Kenneth Blackwell, the Republican candidate for governor who is trailing by double digits in most polls with three weeks until the election, went on the offensive in the fourth and final debate Monday night against Democrat Ted Strickland.

And like the rain that fell on the Channel 10 television studios and the spin tents pitched outside, Blackwell never let up during the one-hour debate nor in the aftermath during a rousing question-and-answer session.

To recap, Blackwell said Strickland did not vote for a resolution condemning sex between adults and children as a U.S. congressman.

That vote led NAMBLA, an organization that promotes sex between adults and consenting minors, to applaud Strickland, Blackwell said. Blackwell also said Strickland knew, employed and traveled with a man convicted of exposing himself to young children in Washington and Athens counties.

6. he was FOR the war, but says "we were jerked around, lied to"
before that he said he realizes now that they had a PREORDAINED AGENDA to go after Saddam

has he said that on TV?

I know he's been pretty strongly against the junta on Iraq, but has he used such strong language

now, though, he's waxing doubtful on whether the 2000 elections were stolen, BUT says it's irrelevant today, because there's so much doubt about the what's going on today with Diebold, etc.

Sam ties him up with his knowledge of PURGING voter roles in Florida and with the recent revelations in Ohio with the same thing

Cafferty hems and haws, cause he clearly doesn't know anything about the latest developments

pretty funny. Sam knows WAY more about all this than Cafferty does

7. Cafferty is PISSED about Harry Reid and is making it known to Sam.
Sam was trying to explain the difference between Bob Ney and Harry Reid and Cafferty wanted none of it. Corrupt is corrupt. He said Reid cannot stand on the other side of the isle and condemn the other side if he's doing the same thing. Couldn't agree more, but I don't think what Reid did is the same thing. Do we know yet if Reid broke the rules?

9. see my post below, and this, for what I understand of the situation
according to Senate rules, they have to be notified when MONEY changes hand, not owndership. Reid accrued NO advantage in what he did, and his failure to notify the Senate of change in ownership to an LLC has been taken care of.

this is what the pugs do: deflect and try to excuse their own wrongdoing by bringing up somebody else's....two wrongs don't make a right.

the irony is that Cafferty just used the same argument to excoritate Reid, without knowing the FACTS of his case, while IGNORING what Hastert did

he BROUGHT up Reid, rather than Hastert. why did he make that choice?

he's going off on Cafferty again now, nailing him for making false equivalency charges, when Ney took BRIBES and Hastert did a TWO HUNDRED MILLION dollar earmark that resulted in a huge gain in the property value of land that he just happened to own that lies within, what, a mile of a proposed interstate HIGHWAY?

gee, Jack, are you going to mention the Reid fiasco on your show tonight, and ignore Hastert? or Ney?

this is what the pugs do best: take a somewhat complicated situation that requires a more than three word answer and turn it into a sound bite that can be used to destroy an opponent. can you say Love Story, Love Canal, Swiftboat?

10. Interesting! Maybe Sam shamed him enough to talk about Hastert tonight?
I doubt it, but I can hope. Sam really did hand Cafferty his ass on a platter. Cafferty isn't use to being challenged and it showed. I'm sure he thought he'd have an easy ride on Sam's show...WRONG! Sam did GOOD!

8. he's RUINING Cafferty for bringing up Harry Reid's TECHNICAL
violation for Senate rules, and FAILING to mention Hastert, while asking why CNN has spent so much time on Reid, while spending NONE on Hastert's real, quid pro quo gains in his Illinois land deal

Cafferty got pissed, and the interview ended on a sour note, hahahaha

Sam brought up the false equivalency in the two cases, and the fact that CNN is ignoring Hastert, after which Cafferty, in a huff, said he didn't speak for CNN.

then, Seder said, YOU brought up Reid. Cafferty didn't like that, and realized he's falling into the trap of his own old RW ways. pretty funny/sad at the same time. they just don't realize how obvious they are in their built in biases

12. TNR on HAstert's land DEALS, with an S
http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:BcyFuDfGydcJ:www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml%3Fi%3Dw061002%26s%3Dlillyornstein100606+hastert+land+deal&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=5

Hastert's real estate transactions have been reported extensively in the Chicago press and picked apart in a June report issued by the Sunlight Foundation. But they have been largely ignored in the national media. A careful examination of the facts in the case, however, leads to the conclusion that there are compelling reasons beyond the Foley case to call for the speaker's resignation from the post.

Here are the essential facts: In August, 2002, Hastert bought 196 acres of land in rural Kendall County, Illinois for $2,125,000. According to the Chicago Tribune, Hastert bought the plot in two separate transactions. The first deal gave him a house, barn, swimming pool, and 17 acres of land for $1.2 million. In the second deal, he obtained an additional 179 acres on an adjacent property for a little less than $5,200 per acre. The least valuable portions of the second deal were two fields, separated from the rest of the farm by a stream and inaccessible by road.

That was a big deal for a life-long politician and wrestling coach like Hastert, but harmless enough. Eighteen months later, however, Hastert's purchase took a new direction. The speaker entered into a real estate agreement with Dallas Ingemunson, the chair of the Kendall County Republican Party, and a campaign contributor named Tom Klatt. The three men formed a real estate trust and purchased an additional 69 acres of land adjacent to Hastert's two inaccessible fields. The trust paid $1,033,000 for the land, or about $15,000 per acre--more expensive turf than Hastert's plot in part because of its access to a road.

And here's where the deal first begins to acquire a pungent odor: The trust then added Hastert's two fields to the jointly acquired parcel and credited Hastert with 62 percent ownership apparently on the presumption that Hastert's $5,200 land was equal in value to his partners $15,000 land.

These deals coincided with a protracted battle in Congress sparked by the expiration of the 1998 highway bill. Hastert's purchase of his new home and the additional 179 acres of land took place the same month that the House Transportation Committee prepared for its first hearings on a new highway bill--a bill that would be rife with opportunities for members of congress to bring new roads to their districts in the form of earmarks, changes in infrastructure that could have a major effect on real estate values.

.............

rest of story talks about how he uncharacteristically shephered a very controversial bill though the house, and sold the property he bought at a profit of SEVERAL MILLION bucks, while LYING about the particulars

well worth the exposure

what a surprise that the M$M has ignored it. wonder if it will blow up if the Foley thing really takes off to the point where Hastert really gets put under the microscope
