DES MOINES, Iowa (Reuters) - Arizona Sen. John McCain, a likely Republican presidential contender in 2008, joked on Wednesday he would "commit suicide" if Democrats win the Senate in November.

McCain, on a visit to Iowa to campaign for Republican congressional candidates, was asked his reaction to a potential Democratic takeover of the Senate in the November 7 elections.

"I think I'd just commit suicide," McCain told reporters, to accompanying laughter from Republicans standing with him. "I don't want to face that eventuality because I don't think it's going to happen."

Democrats must pick up six seats in the Senate and 15 seats in the House of Representatives to win control of both chambers.

7. McCain is an idiot.
Contemplating suicide is not a joke. I work in mental health and anyone making a statement like that would have a one-way ticket to the looney bin. We have people running the country who are certifiable.

That being said, vertical cuts work better than horizontal.

9. He is foul ...
The only thing that makes him look even moderately attractive is that he is only moderately nuts, in a party full of raging lunatics ...

He was on Hardball yesterday, the first leg of the "college tour" at Iowa State ... It just is AMAZING the stuff that MSM people won't call him on, just because he is McCain, who they have deemed as the "straight talker" ... He is the SAME as any other republican, he just does not run from the same talking points ...

Mathews nailed the students out of the gates, which I was suprised about ... he asked the audience, who here is currently enlisted in some sort of military branch ... You could count the number who stood on two hands ... He then asked who supported the war in Iraq, and just short of half the audience stood ... He went into something else, before he asked who would be willing to enlist to support the Iraq war efforts ... You could count the number who stood on one hand ...

He called them on it, and McCain, who has spent the prior five minutes sucking their butts cried out "your showing your bias, Chris" ...

PATHETIC ...
