CNN getting positively ORGASMIC over NFL Threat |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-19-06 09:42 AM by Vinnie From Indy
The willingness of the big cable networks to pimp hard for BushCo is reaching new heights of absurdity. Tuning in briefly a few minutes ago, I heard a VERY breathless reporter describing the threat of exploding a dirty bomb at an NFL stadium using a truck as the delivery vehicle. The kicker was the graphic being shown while the reporter spoke that depicted a jumbo jet crashing into the ground and exploding. Huh? I guess that was the scariest film they had on hand. I half expect CNN to soon report that there is "internet chatter" about terrorists planning to stalk and kill old Christian ladies as they go to worship Jesus on Sunday in thousands of small towns in America. I predict that they will show archive footage of churches burning or footage from horror films showing old ladies exploding as the reporter describes all manner of death and destruction promised in the "new" threat. They will, of course, include the boilerplate language about the threat being "not credible". I believe that if they could swing it, they would begin personalizing the "non-credible" threats. That way when Mrs. Peabody watches CNN in her small living room, they can pop up a graphic that says "The terrorists mentioned killing YOU Mrs. Peabody in Possum Trot, KY"!
After the BE AFRAID story, a CNN commercial sponsor asks me if want a pill that promises me a 36 hour erection. Then CNN tells me that there are TWO (count 'em TWO) missing children in America! Thanks CNN! Heckuva job!

The whole thing started as an in-joke on various Net forums. I thought the Feds would be inured to this sort of thing; it can't be the first time baseless predictions like this have bounced around on discussion boards.

8. Every terra-terra-terra story on MSM |
|
should be followed by a statement that Dubya is keeping Murca safe, so there's nothing to worry about.
That is, unless the relentless ass-kissing of the past five years has all been a pile of lies...

11. Couldn't people just rent "The Sum of All Fears"? |
|
After all, it was supposed to be about Islamic terrorists until they became too real and the writers had to swap in neoNazis.
