Here is what happened to america when bush* signed away Habeas Corpus |
|
In America one is no longer innocent until proved guilty. Now all they have to do is say you are a terrorist and that is enough for Americans to agree torture is fine. They no longer have to prove you committed any crime of any sort. If Bush* or Rummy say you are guilty then by Gawd you are guilty and there is not a thing you can do about it. You no longer have the right to defend yourself. They reinforce this attitude every day by calling these captives Terrorists when they have not been found guilty of anything at all. Never even had a trial. Guilty and yet never even charged. I have absolutely no faith in the Extreme Court finding this unconstitutional as they ruled for Bush* in 2000 which showed they no longer care about Contstitutional issues only Politics...America is no longer here. It died and it's corpse is rotting and stinking and the entire world is holding it's nose.

People, fire up your keyboards. Help America really understand what has happened.
We are all enemy combatants if somebody tells bush to say so.

2. Salem witch trials anyone? |

Same hysteria, different time. You'd think by now the human race would have progressed a bit.

6. Mock trials. Once accused, that was the end of it - |
|
never had a chance and nothing had to be proven.

3. Same day * signed this onerous bill, Gonzalez sent a memo to |
|
all federal courts, essentially telling them to mind their own business as far as terrorists go.
Kind of ironic. The Supreme Court invalidated the military tribunals, saying Congress had to pass legislation to make them legitimate and constitutional. And Congress passed a law that is more overreaching, overbroad, vague, and unconstitutional in another provision(s) than the original directive that the Supreme Court invalidated.

4. Everytime I now hold a sign in protest, I face the threat of being |

imprisoned. And how would I get out? Who would I get to call? I have no rights... I have told my family that if I go missing, it is not because I want to. I have a small business and work for another company 50+ hours a week. I have a small son. I would be noticed as missing. Thank God I've tied myself to way too much debt to go missing for long.

5. But they continue to sell democracy. That's the last reason given |

for invading Iraq. To bring them democracy. Everywhere, everyday their speech is full of propaganda about our bringing the world democracy.
I say they sent us back to 1006. If the origin of Habeus Corpus was 1214, the build up could have been broiling in 1006 a a thousand years ago. We reverted.
PNAC and the barons reversed the calendar.
We are now going to have to start over.

The spin here on the morning shows in NC is that this law does not apply to US citizens.
I got into a heated discussion this morning with a neighbor who is regurgitating the same crap
He says that if Bush was to apply this to a US citizen then there would be an uprising here in the US, to which I replied, how are we going to know if it is applied now that he has absolute power to disappear people at his whim if feels that you are a threat to this country or his administrations policies to fighting his so called war on terror

9. If people start disappearing, maybe we all need to try to get "detained" |
|
When thousands and thousands of everyday, reputable people start being whisked off, maybe the ignorant masses would start waking up.
Extreme? Yes, but what else can we do? (organize massive, massive protests, maybe?)
